Popped across Marketplace yesterday afternoon ( of course I can’t find it now ) .
Was a 2014 Grand Caravan RT, 88k miles. “
Needed a trans” (
betting fluid/filter and it would have been fine
)
.
The guy just wanted it gone, $900! Only other flaw was a crack in the front bumper.
I missed it by an hour! Son of a B****!

Could have been stolen...

Hey do you have a good strategy for the fluid changes in the newer vans ? Ours is due but $450 at the dealer. I’d do it but I’m told the level check requires a dealer tool....

And damn at $450, our dealer said $200 for fluid/filter. Even so, I’m buying the tool and doing it myself, I don’t trust them to do it right.

Yeah that’s my position as well. I hate other people touching my cars. Price is stupid because most DC people have no life skills. Thanks for the link, I had heard something about a Chevelle dipstick as an alternative and didn’t believe it, but apparently that’s pretty much what you need.

Here’s another option if you don’t want to buy the tool:

I did it myself on the wifes 2012 T&C, super easy, bought a dipstick, mopar fluid znd the filter kit from amazon for 70ish bucks, was finished in under an hour.

That’s my plan. I don’t need the dealer frying my trans.
