I wonder if they’ll accept obscenity-laden tirades about trying to remove a rusty bolt ?
Or obscenity-laden tirades about bi cyclists?
Pick anything related to cars, and I can swear at it for 2k words, no problemo.

Worth a shot.

We are NOT looking for stories off ride and drivers
“Off Ride and Drivers”... I’ve never heard of this magazine.

Just got this.

We ARE however looking for good editors.

Pondering on this for a few minutes just really makes me consider how uninteresting I am.

Haha - 2020 goalz: do

I wonder if they accept random overviews of various design differences on the same model of unloved Korean ecobox that nobody cars about...

I wonder if they’ll hire a guy who just writes about RallyCross vans.

Thanks for the tip. Wonder if I could polish up and expand those drive stories... S ounds like the 911 piece is probably too long and not what they’re after. Wonder what else I could scribble about?

Your 911 story, with the 308 backstory, is so great. More people need to read it.
I also think your personal story is intriguing. Falling in love with cars as a kid, getting into the business, falling out of love with it all, and falling back in love with cars with your 911 is great stuff.
Could be a lead-in to a series of articles about interesting clients/cars you’ve come across in your time in the business.

May be exactly what they’re looking for... Ha!

Ah, such an interesting position. I’m gonna send them my Prius review where I thrash C&D for giving it such a low rating

I’d polish up the 911 story and send it in. It’s such a good story.

But seriously, proofreading is important!
My previous employer has an instagram account, and I know and like the person running it. However, despite keeping the captions short and sweet, nearly every single one has some kind of minor mistake. It’s infuriating. I corrected the first two I saw by texting her, but then I just gave up.

Thank you! I just don’t know how I’d knock 400 words out of it to get down to 2000 . If anything, I could make it longer now that I’ve had it a year. A story on your truck would be great to see published too!

I just don’t know how I’d get the 911 piece down to 2000 words, if anything it could be longer. The 308 piece could fit nicely, even get longer and fit within their word count. Maybe I could extend it with mention of LALD & Oppo! I need better pictures too, but that’s no big deal.
I’ve often thought of writing about stuff or people in the business, but I can never seem to get various ideas to coalesce into something I feel I could write well about. More food for thought at least, and thanks for the encouragement, as always.

I think it’s worth sending him your 911 piece and your 308 piece, sharing
some of your story,
and telling him that you’d like to write something for them (or edit down one of your existing ones). If he’s worth his paycheck, he’ll be back in touch with you with some advise and direction.
