According to a random ad I was served up on the internet just now, Toyota has super badass murdered-out !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! available on the 4Runner, Camry, Corolla (in both sedan and hatch body styles!) and Sienna. Mmm, murdered out minivan.
Whoops, maybe they should’ve included some spray-on taillight tint in the package.

Has there ever been a vehicle with factory Alteza style tail lights that actually looked good?

The Altezza.

Manufacturers are already giving the people the cross overs that they crave, might as well save them the hassle of plasti-dipping everything.

If this were an emoji you might've accidentally just tried to hit on me.

These all need an eggplant emoji badge instead of one that says “Nightshade”.

Looks like Jay Automall has been catering to nightshade fans for a while now.

Oppo’s favorite nightshade

I want to say black badges were a potential $200 option when I was buying my Corolla. They were listed as “black emblem overlays” which makes me think they are literally just stickers that go over the chrome badges.

That’s close—they’re hollow black plastic letters/badges with adhesive on the inside that fit neatly over the chrome letters/badges. I bought a set for my 4Runner from the parts department of a dealer on the other side of the country for like $25 shipped.

Hmm nightshades. . . n ightshades. . .
So like what. . . a potato? That's the only one I know and there is nothing cool at all about that.

I believe the intended cool sinister vibe is from poisonous nightshade .
Either that, or tomatoes.

Well they couldn't really call it Black Edition like everybody else does now could they...

Gee what are they trying to be, FCA or something?

Chrysler did it with the Pacifica . Looks nice. We bought a ‘17 in black and I used the Oracal film on the taillights, tinted the windows and dipped the wheels gunmetal. Then next model year Chrysler goes a and offers an S package that does similar, but blacks out the chrome. Looks good.

Every manufacturer has something like this. Chrysler calls it “ Blacktop”

Hmm my friend bought a slightly used black 2016 van just like that and it had plastidiped wheels, sprayed over some gunmetal alloys. He is not a car guy, he thought the factory paint was peeling. I finally went to look at it and I laughed. I said you need a pressure washer!

Forget black badges. Toyota needs to bring back the gold badges.

Like Nissan does with their “Midnight Edition”. Although I think Nissan charges you like $2k for it.

Tomatoes, or technically tobacco, too.
The Simpsons was onto something with their Tomacco episode...

What’s weird is those cars all look modded except the 4Runner, which looks like every 4Runner I see now. It’s as bad as the Wrangler now, maybe worse (in terms of excessive modding)
