Yes, the Elm iraj.

Kinja'd!!!

I find this so painful because while subsequent Cadillacs had some elements of this concept, nothing was as gorgeous and complete .

Cadillac has spent roughly the last two decades creating gorgeous concepts, with cool names. Then putting watered down half measures into production, with meaningless alpha/alpha numeric designations.

When the El Miraj was making the rounds, the sole reason I went to the Chicago Auto Show that year, was to see it in person. And it was worth it.

Cadillac is a study in wasted potential and missed opportunities. And that makes me genuinely sad.

It does me as well. Much like Lincoln there was a time when they were really top of the line contenders instead of an also-ran in the luxury vehicle world. I secretly wanted the mid-engined ‘Vette to actually be a reincarnation of the El Dorado.

But GM in general has become a study in wasted potential. Killing off things and taking storied name plates (like the Blazer and even to an extent the Trail Blazer) into half hearted crossovers

LC500 has to take the cake as the best concept-to-production case of the 2000s, no?

Yeah its really an abomination. They could have done something daring and made a Jeep competitor but they just decided to make an ugly attempt to make a “sporty” crossover

It is, except for the abstract concept of me actually owning one.

Aim for the LC500, settle for an SC300. Or something like that

That was a few weeks ago when they opened the Saleen exhibit. The webpage still lists Cadillac as a current exhibit.
