Sorry - a joke. Ba Fongul sort of means “go fuck yourself”. I used to joke with friends that “pasta ba fungal” was the name of dish.

Lol - I knew what that translates to, and kind of figured that but hadn’t heard it called that!

Yes it was! Just a tray we bought from the grocery store and heated up, but delicious!

There’s a little left, even my 3 year old enjoyed it. Come and get it.

Now we have to guess which Chicagoland grocery store chain this was purchased from. I’m going with Mariano’s.

Pretty good guess - we do shop there, as well as Pete’s Fresh Market and Fresh Thyme- but this was from Whole Foods-

I think I would trade my DC grocery store selection for Chicago grocery stores. Maybe. I miss grocery shopping in Madison, it legitimately kicks the shit out of DC. I can get everything I need here but at too high of cost and spread over too many different stores.

RIP In Peace to Dominick’s

Dominicks was great. Marianos is what replaced it in our area.

Wegmans???? My wife still raves about that store from her Rochester days.
And yes, we have a lot of great choices here. Didn’t even mention Valli Produce, which is legendary in the NW burbs, but not near me.

Same here. I used to walk to the local Dom’s every friday with my friends and get their $4.99 large pizza. A feast in the eyes of a few middle schoolers.

They’re starting to make it here but so far are not yet in my part of town. There’s a big new mixed use residential retail etc development that a developer has been trying for years to get built right n me (and the Metro station within walking distance that makes that particular parcel of land so valuable) but it’s taking forever to work through all the approvals.
