30 degrees is not fun. But I think that was the point of the title.

I changed the oil on my wife’s forester today. It was windy but I layered up

Yeah I could have played musical cars and moved the M3 outside and put the Crosstrek inside the garage, but I wasn’t doing that just to load 6 cells with water.

I have changed oil in windy weather where the oil drops out of the oil hole and lands like three feet away instead of the oil catch pan.

Done that as well. When my home was still being built.

Also an avid musical cars player, 4 cars, one lane.

It’s so damned easy on the Forester that I just popped the plug out and went inside

yeah thats the problem, you plan for the extreme cold, then through the work you warm up

but I would much rather warm up to sweating than start ice cold

yeah I didnt notice it until too late, I usually pop the bolt than do something else in or outside the house and come back and finish

Same deal on the Jeep, but I rotate my tires while waiting for the oil to drain. At 70F it was a bit toasty for a hoodie.

Finished up the job in a short sleeve t shirt. Cooled off with a beer. Gave thanks for it finally being winter.

It was thirty when I woke up and it definitely surprised me how warm it got. Can’t say I’ve ever worked on cars barefoot. The scorpions are hiding for the winter, but I generally wear shoes out of habit.
