Today was a great day for exploring, practically nobody around at Shakamak State Park.

Or a nearby fish and wildlife area that I stumbled upon accidentally, where I was sadly horrified by the trash strewn about. Not to mention the deer carcass rotting in water. I’ll spare you that photo.

Easy quiz: one photo reflects a location of historical significance. Which and why?

That looks like a great area to explore. Maybe next week I'll try to find something interesting around here...

Thats a cool old IH truck. Surely that wasn't rotting away on the park land itself though?

Nope, that was in the middle of nowhere. Closest town of any size is Linton, about 5500 people.

The only significant downside to being in remote areas like that this time of year is hunters. I did my best to make myself appear un-deer-like.

Good call. Probably best to save the deer suit for elsewhere

The Wagoneer is probably a pile of rust at this point - but it’s still a handsome old truck.
