Well... tried to, anyway? Sort of.
In the dream I drove the Volvo to our local Jag dealer (which I have never been in to but used to drive past 2-4 times per day) and was immediately accosted by a salesman trying to put me in a new Jag. I think it was an XF or an F-Type, both of which I have considered at some point in my life, or maybe an XJ? I don’t actually know a lot about Jag’s currentish offerings .
I said “no, ” which makes me wonder why I was there in the first place.
He pressed.
I said “Does it have a manual?”
He said “no.”
I said “Well here is my number call me if you find one in manual.”
He then asked if I’d be trading in the C30, to which I said “No, I’ll probably put it on BaT.”
Then I woke up and remembered that I’d forgotten to take my trashcans to the curb.

I totally would, but the newer ones are just a little too expensive and a little scary on maintenance and the manuals are too thin on the ground.
Also, I paid what I thought was a lot of money for my Volvo new, but that is now less than the average car transaction price in 2019. This breaks my brain. So basically I have a mental block about paying more for a used car than I paid for what I thought at the time was an expensive car but really wasn’t.
I think I need more coffee...

Agree. When we bought our former Cheap-X5 at $28k it was the most expensive thing I’d ever bought.
Now I want a truck and everything is $60k for what I’d like. It’s insane.

I’ve heard iffy things about the feel of the manual and I love mine with the auto (my first auto vehicle, ever). I can’t really speak to scary maintenance (yet), but with 10,000 trouble free miles I’m feeling pretty good so far. It does make me a little nervous though
