Moar Pizzazz!!! Moar POWAH.
*looks up stats*
“LB6:
The LB6 engine was introduced in 1985 to replace the original LE2. It used multiport fuel injection and produced 130 hp (97 kW).”
You know, that’s not bad for 1986

None. Those are all associated with old people driving 10 below the speed limit living in Florida. It's why they did the whole Art and Science campaign with the original cts in the first place

Cadillac is a tough one to judge but I’m going to say not going back to the older names is a better idea. For someone like me (25), they just remind me of old relatives and AARP discounts. Maybe that’s what Cadillac needs? Idk I feel like that market is going away.
They probably should’ve just stuck with CTS, ATS...etc that they started and not the CT/XT bullshit.

This. Number scheme works with desire to be a modern German luxury competitor, old enough to not have 80s 90s era negative association.

I’m clowning in that the 75 is the factory limo, but they did also have a series 70 on and off, and there’s no real
reason not to bring back Sixty-Two and Sixty Special as models either.

Don’t hate on me for it, but those clean Italian lines have been speaking to me lately. May pick one up for a project car...

Funny, for that reason it probably had the best build quality of any Caddy during that time period. But, it still felt wrong.
Apparently an LS swap fits neatly into that engine bay, almost like the designers had thought about it at the time...

None. As others have said, names like Fleetwood and DeVille make me think of old people doing 40 in the left lane.
On the other hand, I do like cars that have actual names, and not alpha numeric designations . Unless their German. Somehow I think that works for the Germans... except I liked it better when then codes actually meant something (i.e. 325xi meant a 3 series platform with a 2.5l engine and AWD ). But I digress.
Maybe I’m way out in left field here, but you can’t be a market leader if you’re following everyone else. Don’t do the alphanumeric thing, do names, make them cool again.
Also, Cadillac needs to stop cutting corners. I looked at an ATS back over the summer and was immediately turned off because the manual uses the EXACT SAME SHIFT KNOB as a my Cruze. That and the interior is slathered in piano black. The cheapness was astounding. There were lots of good things about it, they obviously made progress in many areas, but why would cheap out on one of the key interface points of a car? /endrant

Yeah, totally agree. Every one I’ve looked at, the seats have held up remarkably well. So I think they used ugly materials of the highest quality...
Our theory was to leave the Pininfarina badges but de-badge everything else... basically erase any Cadillac references.

What doesn’t the LS fit neatly into?
I'm sure the Camaro and Corvette teams were less than thrilled when they heard about that.

It’s tight back there. Really tight. You have to shoehorn, “hard” even to get a Busso in there.
We’re doing one now with an LSJ Saturn ION mill, so ask me in a couple of months...
![]() 12/13/2019 at 13:02 |

It might also be because the cars only were driven once a month, in the summer, to the country club...
But the interiors generally look great in those cars, assuming they used the hardtop.

I like the idea of using Biarritz as a trim level like the V’s. Top trim with added chrome, badges, and....standing hood ornament.

We’re cutting out the “trunk” (which has too much rust anyway) for the intercooler... pics to follow if I can achieve “authorship” status here on OPPO.
It should be a 250HP roller skate.
