Do you ever have dreams about cars/trucks ? I don’t mean, “my dream is to own a P orsche”, but actual dreams. Last Christmas, I dreamed that Santa’s sleigh was a 1966 Thunderbird with jet engines, and it was also a Tardis, which explained how it could fit so much stuff inside. I also once had a dream that I had a ‘74 Civic with the frame of a Geo Tracker and an LS V8, which was fun. Or the dream that me, Torch, and fancy Kristen were up to various shenanigans in a 1913 Metz. But what are the best automotive dreams you’ve had?

Years ago, I had a dream that a friend’s dad let me take out his silver 996 turbo. Strange things about it were the fact he didn’t own a 996 turbo, let alone a Porsche, and I wasn’t very good a driving manual at the time.

the only part of one I can remember (because of how silly it was) had me driving my truck somewhere, and the engine was revving like crazy but the truck wasn’t moving very fast. there were warning lights on the dash, then another one turned on which said “THESE” with arrows pointing to the other warning lights. As if to make sure I saw them.

Yeah.

Recently, I had a dream that I borrowed the family minivan, which isn’t that weird, but it had a manual, which was kinda weird.

Imagine ‘Christine’ meets ‘Convoy’ but with a 300zx and all the truckers are zombies.

The brakes never work. Or they're super spongey or barely work.

I once had a dream like that. It was an old Beetle, and my so lu tion in the dream was to hire Chuck Norris to ride on the roof and stop the car by hand when necessary. Or roundhouse kick the other cars out of the way, whichever he pref er s. You can do a lot with your very own Chuck Norris :)

I can’t speak for my self, but this guy did have dreams

Probably mostly unrelated to cars, but I do wonder if some famous people dream of cars... like Chuck Norris - does he ever miss that truck that he was buried in temp orarily?

I had just started taking malaria pills about a 15 years ago and I had the wildest dream. I was in a late model GTO, probably 04 or 05. It was yellow and had the interior colored matched. The A pillars and dash where yellow. I was driving with my mom in the passenger seat. We ended up driving off-road through the woods at incredibly high speed. Trees whipping past on each side. Then boom, one comes right up the middle. As where are about to go full speed into the tree I wake up.

I stopped taking those pills the next day. Freaked me the hell out. I can still recall that dream vividly.

I had a dream I GT3'd several cars I've had. A Mitsubishi Galant, Pontiac G6, and a Honda Prelude. It was some of the weirdest shit I ever dreamed.

Wow. That’s crazy. Perhaps it’s a warning to stay away from yellow GTOs ;)

I had a dream I was driving a BMW M5 on winding mountain roads, pedal to the metal, passing cars and trucks. All that down shifting and redlining. I never wanted to wake up :)

Why it had to be a BMW? surprised it didnt go into limp mode :P

I once has a very real dream that I bought a purple  S13 Coupe. It was so real I fact that when I woke up I sprung out of bed and went into the kitchen to look for the the keys.

Then I had to wonder if it was a dream. I had to go outside and check my driveway before I gave up hope lol.

I used to frequently have dreams where I would find a Lego piece that doesn’t exist, and then I would wake up excited to use it. But years later, some of those pieces actually do exist, so who knows? Maybe one day you’ll actually own a purple s13.

That’s like the car enthusiast equivalent of dreaming that you can fly :)

I’ve had a couple dreams about the fintail spinning out and crashing on ice, usually on a bridge. When I get out to inspect the car, no damage. It does have a fairly thick gauge of steel, maybe realistic. Also, 90% of the time when I have a dream about “my car”, it is the fintail, no matter the modern car I have at the time.

Just last night I had a weird dream that I leased a car and forgot about it, discovering it when going through my bank statements.  It was a 6er GC.  Not sure what’s behind that, or where the car was in the dream.

I have an occasional recurring dream where I suddenly remember I own a car that I’ve forgotten about for a few years. It’s always a beige Nova, first gen, with a black interior. Plane Jane, but in nice condition.

I remember it, go get it, and start it right up and drive it, and I’m happy.

I have never owned any Nova, but my first car was a 65 Cutlass in that color scheme, make of that what you will.

I have a recurring dream where my brakes are really spongy and all break pressure stops at about 3 mph. The handbrake always barely doesn’t hold it and I wake up panicking. Wie r de st part, my car is an auto.

Another person here commented about a similar dream involving malfunctioning brakes, leading me to believe that perhaps that’s one of those dreams that has some sort of dee per meaning, like that you feel you can’t stop disaster from happening or something. I’ve also had a dream that involved malfunctioning brakes, but that dream also inv olved Chuck Norris stopping the car for me, so who knows what that was all about.

Your interpretation is spot on, and it only occurs during particularly stressful times. IDK why the handbrake never stops it though, since it is an automatic.

Interpr eting your dream the same way has differen t results because of the strong figure that saves you.
