Over 40 hours. And no one should do that. At least not without thinking very hard about it first. This is warranty and extremely rare for this engine.

Not exactly. It's a 2014 with 70k 'murican miles. CPO warranty. Extremely rare for this engine.

That’s actually a good price. Bulletproof engine. Biggest fear there would be air suspension. Everything else should be solid.

Can you swap out the air suspension with coil overs from a similar Merc chassis car ? I did this on one of my old Subaru XT’s and it made a world of difference.

Sometimes I get really tired of JRITS because of all the German shitting posts there are. Just yesterday an Audi tech was bitching about the oil change procedure on the Q8. You need to remove the “intake.” Last time it got posted the tech said it was an hour book time. Is that annoying? Yes. Did the engineers do it for a reason, and that reason wasn’t to piss off some technician? Yes.

Technicians are not engineers. And engineers are not technicians.

But I love your posts because seeing the dichotomy of Mercedes vs VAG and BMW really is cool.

Nah. He'll be fine. It seems a common switch and I only know of one guy who went back to BMW, but it wasn't to work on cars. All the guys I know who've done it were quite happy with the switch and found Benz to be more mechanic-friendly.
