Harbour air is the world’s biggest seaplane carrier and Vancouver has the word’s biggest seaplane terminal. Harbour Air was to be a client of my old firm and their main terminal was located a short distance from my office.
This is the first flight of their first electric plane.
You can hear what it sounds like in the 2nd video.

10:36 is about it for battery life, presumably?

They listed the cities around the area they could reach, but they all seemed to be like 50 nautical miles tops by air from the Vancouver Waterfront . Probably not a bad application for the current state of tech. I think they said the maximum possible range was about 160KM. So, short hops.
I keep running the math wherein to get full range a 757 would need to weigh 3,000,000 pounds (mostly batteries) to get from LAX to Maui... and thinking there must be a better way.

All Harbour Air does is short hops, so it works well for them!

So has anybody yet run The Nanaimo Bathtub Race with battery power yet?
We used to ride motorcycles up there to enjoy the scenery and waterfront drink .

We could do a Victoria thing sometime... maybe next spring?

I think that would be doable!
I think the Whistler meet planning started sometime last year in January, so I may do that timeline again for the Island.

I had no idea that they were using a Magnax motor. They make some very neat looking axial flux motors.
