Found my old 4x2 Jeep for sale at a used car lot. Other than the really inflated price and pictures that hide damage on the front corner, the thing that makes me mad is they wrote “Southern SUV” on the windows. It’s been in Michigan since new . Literally the free Carfax they provide is all Michigan records. .

Southern Michigan?

Michigan is Dixie now. That window is canon.

It’s the Quotes that do it. “southern” as in, not Canada. “N ew Brakes” As in, they had n’ t been on our lot before now.

Hey now, some parts of Michigan earned the nickname “Michitucky” for a reason. And it definitely was NOT the lack of salt on the roads.

Southern in spirit, not frame.

“other than the high price, the hidden damage, the misleading geography , and the fact that two of the bullet points are about brakes...”
Seems legit

I think the other side says “new rotors” but the pictures do not look like new rotors.

Maybe those are sarcastic/ironic quotes. As someone from the tail end of Xers, I can’t see quotes for anything else.

I traded my 1997 Explorer in when I got my 128i, they didn’t even bother to take the “Georgia Tech Alumni” sticker off the back window. I know this because I saw the car at copart with the sticker still attached.

Perhaps it’s the two wheel drive aspect that makes it a “southern SUV.” That’s currently the only US location that two wheel drive trucks are worth anything.

Could be, never seen it advertised like that. I guess it brings up the question why a Michigan used car lot would want to buy a RWD Jeep wholesale in winter.

Maybe "Southern" as in "Southern-Style" , because of the 4x2? Almost all of the 2wd Wranglers they sold did go to Florida.

I guess, not sure why they would want to advertise the lack of 4x4 with trying to sell it in Michigan though.

You have to spin it - like calling a cramped house "cozy" or a highly unstable country a "great value vacation destination" .

Used car lots drive me crazy. Most of the cars have damage or a history of some sort, inflated prices and the salesmen all have a general “aloofness” to them.
I feel bad for people who don’t know any better.
I would rather buy a car private party or CPO/big corporate (carmax, etc) with a stack of paperwork any day of the week.
