The Amazon Fairy dropped off these two specialty tools, so I can finish changing the stator on my scooter. They arrived at the exact moment I got home today , which was perfect.
I’ve already used the flywheel holder to get the nut off the flywheel. Using the flywheel puller will have to wait for another day. It’s almost time to take m y daughter to karate class.

I have to disagree. New car day sounds like a better day, but new tool day is an absolute 2nd best day....

That’ s a pretty beefy-looking pin wrench. And it’s adjustable!

It's pretty beefy, although it's not especially well made. It's a cheap Chinese tool. The welds aren't great. Should do the job for me though, I don't anticipate using it often.

New car day for me, always comes with a twinge of apprehension for having spent so much money. New tool day doesn't have that kind of baggage.

I love new tool day! I had to buy a really big adjustable spanner the other day, used it once and now I wander around looking for something else to use it on

I definitely know that feeling!

Tool days rock.
Plus, my daughter is a karate girl too. She just earned her green belt Saturday. I spend so much wrenching time at class with her, but love every second of it.

Yes they do!
My daughter has been doing karate for a couple years now. She's up to a double brown belt . Unfortunately she earned her grace and athleticism from me, but she absolutely loves it and has never once complained, so I’m happy to keep taking her. Our local park district has a great (and very affordable) program.

I always freak out after spending money for a new car and the most expensive one was $5500 but I’m poor so that’s a huge amount for me and I’m still paying off the loan.

Whether I spent $1800 or $28000 (my wife’s car, still have a year to go on that loan), I freak out a bit after the fact.

As someone who specializes working on a quirky subset of European cars, I own a number of special tools. I can appreciate buying the right tool and following the factory instructions to figure out what they intended, then from there you make your own adjustments.
So many jobs are way easier from simply being patient and waiting for the correct tools.
Though there are those days where you might have to make your own because they’re either unavailable or don’t exist for the general public to purchase or simply won’t arrive in time. Been there before too.
