My grandmother is 87. She will be 88 in February. She is shockingly energetic and cognitive, though. And she still drives just fine. I’ve ridden with her to see for myself.
However, she was backing out of the beauty shop parking lot last week (yes, really) and a girl was backing out of a driveway across the road at the same time. They promptly backed right into each other.
The beauty shop is on a two-lane road as we live in rural western Kentucky. The cops came and wrote up a report but didn’t place fault.
My grandma said she went back in the beauty shop to sit down while the cop examined things.

Mmmm im guessing $ 23 53.67. Bumper cover, paint the bumper cover, bit of quarter panel fixing. Think the quarter panel will need paint too?

It already had a deep scratch down to the metal caused by a push mower handle a few years ago. I’m assuming they’ll think this bump caused that and will end up painting it, too.

Taillight, bumper cover, some clips for the bumper, bodywork on the quarter, paint on bumper and quarter... I’d
put it at 3620.50. If that’s some fancy tricoat metallic pearl super
white paint, make it 4 grand.

You’re the closest. The insurance adjuster called and said it’s $2,888.67. Minus their $250.00 deductible. So, the insurance company is sending the body shop a check for $2,638.67.

That taillight will likely be ridiculously expensive.

On a car worth maybe $7k? Brutal.

Its worth more than that, I’m sure. It’s a 2012 SRX Performance Collection with 53,000 miles.

She doesn’t drive much. Bought it in 2014 with 32,000 miles. So, she’s put just over 20k on it in almost six years.

They totalled ours out for minor front end damage.
Good luck timing chains go bad on regular

If automakers hadn’t lobbied to eliminate the 5mph bumper standard, it would be $ 0. Just saying.

Don’t fix it. Take the money to the dog track and double down!!!
I’m a terrible influence on everyone.
