I was just looking at Stealths this morning for a bad-idea purchase. I have always l iked the idea of a 4g63 swap to get rid of some weight and make it a bit easier to work on. Considering what poured out of that exhaust, this would probably be a good swap candidate.

And I ’ve only seen a handful of those Mitsubishi pickups in my life. That’s pretty rare.

We used the rare pickup to tow another rare pickup (Mitsubishi Mighty Max) back from Omaha a few months ago. Looking forward to featuring that on the channel.

the Stealth (and the 3000GT it was based on) was the shit for a hot minute in the ‘90s.

I’ve always wanted to get a broken RT/TT Stealth and rip out the stock driveline and do a 5.9L swap and make it RWD.

The peak for me is the first gen 3000GT with the active aero

Fr iend of mine in the late  90's was storing two cars for a rich doctor buddy of his. The deal was he that he got to drive them once in a while just to keep them from from acquiring sitting diseases. So I got a ride once in the turbocharged NSX, which had enough push to deform the backrests while joining traffic. The other car I never saw out, but was a stealth turbo, claimed by my friend it was a factory version race car, 600hp, yadda yadda. I am still a skeptic and think it was just the tein-turbo option that he had pumped up, just like he did to his NSX. This was the pre fast/furious time of j-spec hot rodding, so who knows what was the reality.of the tuning. I’m curious what rare outlier factory examples were built.

There is really not enough room for a v8 in the engine bay, without major work on the firewall. An 4G63  swap has been done and looks pretty straightforward. There is a guy with one in an old 1320 video and it looks pretty sweet.

There is room when you turn the situation 90 degrees.  Trans tunnel might need expanding, but I’ve seen the VR440 build.

I’ve seen that build as well major rework under the hood, shock towers moved and firewall cut.

Right, but that was a 440.  Much much larger than the 5.9L or 5.7L small block.

I still think they’re fantastic. Flawed in countless ways, but still awesome.

I would rock a sorted out GTO.

That would be a great car, I would think. The 6G72 is great, but it would be nice to have more room to work too.
