eh...everything outsells manuals in the us

With fewer and fewer cars being offered with a manual and more EVs hitting the market it was inevitable we would reach this point.

If I’m to get the exact car I want, I’ll have to build it myself.
I’ve come to terms with that thought about 10 years ago .
But I’m not too worried about the eventual EV takeover. Big block style torque without the big block gas bill? I think I can be ok with that.

Sort of random metrics, eh?
BEEF JERKY OUTSELLING YOGURT!
How about “I’d like both of them?”

Even though EVs and m anual transmissions are like 99% mutually exclusive, this still feels like comparing apples to oranges.

Sort of an irrelevant comparison.

No surprise. I have no problem with it as long as the three-pedal option doesn’t disappear entirely.

Just don’t ask for any beef jerky yogurt.

It definitely is, and if you love apples, and so few people buy them
that stores don’t stock them anymore, it’s a concern!

Yeah, I read about that. And one sad thing is that the rise of BEVs will likely result in the complete death of new manual transmissions cars within a decade or two.

Why not both?
I have driven with a converted EV Passat with such combination. It was pretty weird expe
rience. None
of the major
manufacturers have really offered such but
Morgan had a concept EV with a
5 speed manual. I have no idea if they did sell any of these.

Now I want to try beef jerky yogurt

EVs are good though

There are the occasional weirdos, but yes -- that was baked into the analogy :D

Seems like a manual with an electric motor is completely irrelevant.
Telsas have one gear. The Taycan has two.

You know, there exists a machine that can make yogurt AND beef jerky:

Seeing the text in the notification, I expected this:

I actually bought one of these (or one very similar) years ago.
Used it... not once.

I think the earlier Roadster Tesla has also two gears. Two gears make some sense but 5 doesn’t . But anything is better than a slush box automatic. I just don’t like these. For drag racing they are very good though.
