The song popped into my head as soon as I read the headline. No image needed.

My biggest Pokemon regret is choosing the helix and not the dome fossil.

Or the millennial. I had to look it up on my phone, as I wasn't sure if it was something I could Google on a work computer. At the university, this is the kind of thing I would occasionally ask one of our student employees about. I the youngest person at the new job, so I don't have ready access to kids to find out what's up these days.

I mean, I guess it’d be nice to have the name and address of every purveyor of poké in the region, but generally one only needs to know one or two, not an entire directory of them.

Me neither, but only because of those stupid “trade-to-evolve” ones.
*grumble grumble*

That, or the version exclusives that you have to trade with someone to get.

I did on my original red gameboy color one a long time ago. My favorite thing, and thing I misses the most about Pokemon Go was that I couldn’t actually battle like the old gameboy games.
I loved being able to craft my battle strategy and plug in the cable to another gameboy and beat their ass!
I feel very old thinking that was 15 years ago now...

Oddly enough, an adult male Red Kangaroo was once colloquially known as a ‘ Boomer’.

Or the Gen Xer. I don't get all this pokemawhatsie.
![]() 12/04/2019 at 22:53 |

Indeed. Born in 85, I'd be one of the older millennials.

81 here. Some articles I’ve read put that as the first year of the millennials , but I was very much not raised like a typical millennial. I think I'm really the tail end of Gen X though.

I fit pretty squarely within the idea of millennials being the first digital natives. We had our first computer at home in 1990 (386/40mhz) when I was five, and we had internet access at home in 1994.

I have no idea what a pokedex is.

My sis is ‘81.

Yeah, that’s definitely the marker. We had a shitty Apple II clone at home, had some computers at school,
but my first real exposure to the internet was in college.

I forgive you. We can't all be cool kids.

We had a computer in the house most of my life, but no internet access until I was a senior in high school. If you got caught with a pager in school, you were in BIG trouble.

YES! The Oregon Trail Gen! I’m definitely using that.
