For 2020 Kia makes all base turbo 4 Stingers the GT-Line, giving them a look that is the same as the GT V6 trims. Starting at $33,090, base Stingers get the GT’s front fascia and 18" wheels. Now the only way to tell a GT-Line from a GT is the badges and headlights. They still kept the terrible base halogen headlights.

Not a bad idea. Not every one wants to pay for the V6 but the base model Stinger looks pretty bland

I dislike, I’d be interested in a stinger if I could afford one, but I can’t so my opinion doesn’t matter. But honestly I would want the 4 cyl. Rwd probably anyways just for lower running costs and the upsized wheels don’t help that. But I would want the old premium model so I could get the sunroof anyways and maybe that already had 18" wheels. I like the rest though, just one of those that lament the enormous wheels that are mandatory on pretty much everything over 20k these days.

This is me when I’m ready to go look for one. I want the GT of course but honestly I’d be happy with the turbo. The new GT line helps things. But the downside to the base engine is that it’s very laggy. The G70 with the same engine has this problem too. And having driven both, for some reason it’s seems more apparent in the Stinger.

The Stinger is still at the top of my next car list, but the only way I can see getting the turbo 4 is if they offer it with the manual like the G70. For me I either want the GT with AWD or a turbo 4 with a manual and RWD.

Same here. But if you want the manual you gotta get the G70. But act fast. I read last night that the 2.0 in the G70 is getting resolved by the new 2.5 290 horse turbo from the upcoming Sonata N-Line in either ‘21 or ‘22. And that can only be paired with the 8 speed dual clutch. So that new engine might mean the death of the manual G70.

The problem with the G70 is that this will be a family car for me so car seats have to fit in the rear seat. The rear seats in the G70 are cramped and smaller than our Matrix which already just barely fits a car seat. Add in the fact that the G70 trunk is half the size of the Stinger and I just can’t make the justification for the G70.

This is what I’ve been mulling over too. The G70 is the legit sports sedan. But that comes with sport sedan cavets. Especially if you have kids like I do. The back seat is tight. You just can’t beat the room the Stinger has plus it’s liftback versatility .
