A 2018 Camaro SS 1LE with 11,000 miles on it for $31,000 before tax
And since I bought it in Indianapolis, I took it to IMS for some pictures. Then I went into the museum and did the kiss the bricks tour. Definitely the most memorable car buying trip I’ve done.
I found the Camaro on Autotrader.com, and even though it’s a CPO, my credit union offered me a 6 year 100,000 mile (Doug DeMuro voice) Bumper to Bumper warranty .
Yes, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum is absolutely amazing. Oh, and I did kiss the bricks.
And to cap off the trip, not only did I bring home a Bitchin Camaro, but also some Alonso DNQ merch. I got the garage sign and a beer koozie for $4
It was a fun day.

Congrats! You should have stuck around, I’m sure I could have found one of my neighbors to steal that car from you.

Those stats aren’t much different than my Boss. Hell you’re ahead 55 on me in torque.
New pony cars are bigly.

I owned a Gen 5 ‘13 2SS/RS with a bunch of 1LE bits added after the fact.
Let me know if you need any suggestions on anything or where to buy parts etc.

You made a great purchase. The 6 speed shifts great and the car also puts the power down from a dig with little to no fuss! Hands down one of the best cars I have had a chance to review.

I rather like it ... wish Chevy had kept the throwback steering wheel , but then I’m like that.

Congrats! That 6.2 is a gem!

I mean you say that but M3 and M4 aren’t much lighter. And it’s better than the “ lightened” z/28

Congrats! These (and Mustangs) are big cars but surprisingly practical . Those power numbers do make me crave an LS Miata though.

Congrats! Sounds like a great deal and awesome car. 1LE package is a performance bargain.

Nice purchase. The 1le was on my short list of cars to purchase but a Neanderthal at work got one and talks so much about it I decided to go another direction. Enjoy the new car.

So I am looking at what I guess would be considered Google news on my phone when this article catches my eye. Why? Well, because a little over 2 weeks ago I drove to Indianapolis from Arkansas to trade in my silver 2018, Camaro SS 1LE with 10,867 miles on it for a 2016 Chevy SS sedan. I can tell from the pictures it has Michelin Pilot Sport 4S’s on it, which I installed on mine at 6772 miles. If it has Expel on the rocker panels, lower doors and rear fenders ahead of the wheel openings, then it is probably mine. If it has 2 strips of black Gorilla tape on the firewall insulation (barely visible at the top) directly behind the engine cover, then it is, or was, definitely mine. So now the question is, was it mere chance that this showed up on my phone or is Google watching me? If it was mine, let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy the drive.

No more BMWs for you?
![]() 11/30/2019 at 13:32 |

My pleasure. By the way, the Gorilla tape is covering up a place on the insulation where the black covering had been damaged...just a cosmetic patch. It was like that when I bought it new from the dealer in Greenville, TX.

Regarding Google spying on us: I have had similar “coincidences”. I was talking with a friend du ring a corporate outing about the whole Mission-Winnow F1 thing. Low and behold what starts showing up in my google news feed? Phillip Morris news. Just the typical banal content-mill stuff.

periscope sold separately :p
No really though, I hope you get many enjoyable miles out if it :o)
Now you gotta go get some
T-tops

(That particular shop has been featured on Jalopnik before, when the 5th gen came out)

Correct

Soon, unless you want to buy mine.

Yep

If it’s a manual, and in/ near Virginia, I’m interested. How much are you looking for?

Does the leaky valve cover seem to have been resolved ?
![]() 11/30/2019 at 22:55 |
|
Possibly, but according to the shop it is.

I’m in Northern KY, i t is a manual with 93,xxx on it and 7k would be nice.
![]() 11/30/2019 at 23:01 |

I have been seriously considering replacing my 1-series with a manual 128i.
What year is yours? How many miles? What is your asking price?
![]() 11/30/2019 at 23:09 |
|
2010, 93,xxx, $7k including the set of OZ’s with RE71R’s on them
![]() 11/30/2019 at 23:16 |
|
That could work. I'll have to crunch some numbers and get back to you.
![]() 11/30/2019 at 23:23 |

Take your time, if you need any pictures, let me know. The driver’s seat has cracked vinyl on the left thigh bolster, the dashboard is starting to get some bubbles and there are a few chips and scratches on the paint.
