Yep. My family is growing. :-) We have a little one on the way.
I would post the ultrasound picture, but you can’t tell anything by looking at it. It’s just a blob.
Due in July 2020.
Have a picture of our family cars for your time?

Two seats, or two more seats? That’s what happened to us. We ended with twins. As I’ve said, we wanted to have two kids, but instead we got two more.
Congrats!

That happened to some friends of mine with a Mazda 6. The 6 made the cut, but their CR-V got replaced by an Odyssey (I guess you know about that sort of thing too).

You can't just call a Mazda 6 a blob

You’re one step from the minivan. Do it. Do it already. Forget the life of self serve doors and come to the dark side of auto opening magic.

Co ngratulations!

Ultrasound today confirmed there’s just one in there. Praise.

We got the Highlander to serve as a non-minivan. It’ll do alright. Especially since we aren’t having any more kids after this.

I’ve sort of fallen out of love with the idea now that my 6 has heated seats and remote start. And it has been continuing to behave itself.

The Mrs. gave me such weird looks when I gleefully added a pair of them to the shower registry when we were expecting our first. We now have a mix of Recaro and Britax seats and the Recaro ones are so much easier to deal with, though they are hefty.

Congrats! Time for the dad-wagon

Congrats! We need an Oppo themed gender reveal. Pink or blue tire smoke from a burnout? Dump pink or blue in the coolant of an old Subaru and wait for the head gasket to go?

Congrats man! :D

I convinced my wife pretty easy, actually. I was surprised.
“Hey, if they can make a seat that can survive a wreck in a race car at 150mph, they can handle this”
Wife: yeah, that’s true. Good idea
Me: wait, what?

just one blob? one of my wife’s ultrasounds had two blobs. I tried convincing the nurse the computer was malfunctioning. turns out i was wrong.

Congratulations!!
So are you shopping for a Suburban to replace the 6 now?
![]() 11/20/2019 at 20:58 |
|
Ha. Suburban wouldn’t even come close to fitting in our garage. :-(
![]() 11/20/2019 at 20:58 |
|
Yes. I even double checked and asked the nurse “You just see ONE, right?”
![]() 11/20/2019 at 20:59 |

As sad as this statement is, I’m not sure if any of our three cars can do a burnout...

I guess my miata could as it’s rwd and manual. But sticky tires, 170k miles, and no power adders means I’ll probably break something trying. I guess I could use the oil, and we ca n watch it seep out of the shot cam seals

That’s a good thing. We have 2 now and my wife thinks we need a 3 row SUV.
We do not need a 3 row SUV.

The Highlander has more than enough power, but it is all-wheel-d rive and has about 400 s afety-nannies.

Only reason my wife was able to talk me into getting one is that the one we got wasn’t that much bigger and we do have her little sister (11-years-old) and her best friend’s kid (five-years-old) with us a lot.

A thing...or two.

Lol, need is a strong word. We had two baby seats in our first gen Q7 For a long time. Finally sprung for The minivan when our third came along. Nice to have the extra space, but a need it was not.

Congrats. Everything changes once again. Now you’ll think back and realize how very simple one kid is. Then when you get to three you go zone defense, then four, well, you might as well, your car choices are limited anyway family of 5 or 6, still in a 3 row something. But with family of four, hell, you can drive damn near anything and be okay. Once you realize that all you need when you venture out will fit into a small backpack.

I’ve got 2 car seats in the E class now. It’s fine.
Wife has an RX350 and somehow she thinks neither car is big enough.
I’m 5 9, she’s like 5 3. It’s ridiculous.

Congrats on the blob!

Nothing will beat your first baby announcement photo. I’m bummed you didn’t bring out a gray Cozy Coupe for this.

With that headline I thought you were going to say twins. Then I w ould have prayed for you.
One to two isn't nearly as hard as the first one. Now two to four, that is a bitch. (Yes, I love my kids. Yes, they can also be a pain in the a**.)

Story time. We had two girls, 4 and 2, when my wife told me we were expecting again. We weren’t trying, but clearly not trying hard enough not to.
The week before the ultrasound a good friend of mine (we will call him Greg, since that is his name) came back from his ultrasound with a shocked look - he found out they were having twins.
Fast forward to the day of ours, I didn’t even go. I figured this was the first one, and I had been through this twice already. Before I left in the morning I said to my wife “well, at least we don’t have to worry about what Greg is going through...”
My wife calls me at work so I walk into a quiet hall. Of course the first thing I ask is if everything is ok. She says yes. Then she says “and there are two”.
Literally a minute of silence from my end. “What?”
“There are two. We are having twins.”
I don’t think I’ve been more shocked in my life.
That was over ten years ago, and now I’m bald with bad acid reflux.
So good luck.

at least mine were our first. I made damn sure when my wife got pregnant again there was only 1 in there. having twins as #3 and # 4..... .o boy.

That’s the plan!

My wife and I are in total agreement - if we had twins first we would only have two kids.

Lol, I have three in the back of my S8 and it’s plenty big, although the long wheelbase would be nicer.
