Oh it’s  better than econoboxes from the early 2000s or before, but they gear change is nasty and the dash is laughably horrible. The Aygo only gets the 1l engine, at least the 108 & C1 get the 1.2.

I was even more mad (about not getting it)  when I found out the new Twingo is RWD! If the Nissan merger means I will be able to buy a Twingo in NA, then I guess I live in the alternate reality where I give Nissan my new car money?

Sadly, we don’t get the Aygo....or like...an y small cars here in Canada. I love them, so it makes me really sad that I can’t buy the sort of car I want. Curse everybody for buying crappy crossovers!

Yup...if I want a relatively basic, inexpensive manual hatchback car my options are basically...Mitsu Mirage, Nissan Micra, and Kia Rio or Hyundai Accent. The Accent and Mirage are my favorites of the four, but that’s really all the choice I have.

We get the Mirage and maybe the Rio? The Accent is a bit bigger than all of them but I think we get that too though I don’t think we get a stick.

I really like the crosstreks in orange

I’d call it pumpkin and put a pumpkin decal on it. After being tboned and rear ended I like the idea of a safety orange car too.

It’s almost like a caricature of the overplayed anthropomorphic/angry face design trend, especially in Asian cars, like anime culture made it to the design floor, and of course when one does it, other designers  follow. For the 1958 model year, American cars probably hit their zenith of overstyled bric-a-brac. I think in that way we are repeating 1958 just a little.

At least the Aygo, especially in a cheerful color, can kind of be like a cartoon character rather than something actually menacing.
