I don’t know HAIM, apart from their name.
This is the first song of theirs I’ve knowingly heard; it reminds me of Chvrches with the synthesized instruments and the breathy female vocals, despite the tone difference between the singers.

Th is track is unusually synthy for them, their sound is usually closer to rock

Not necessarily a bad thing to be synthy; I like what Chvrches does (and this HAIM track) but I think it can go bad, like Rush during their 80s synth period when their pure rock style is all they needed.
I see what you mean about their rock style - checking out a few more of their tracks, songs like Little of Your Love or Summer Girl are more rock but then you get something like Falling which almost feels like a bridge between these two distinct styles from them.
I like the songs I’ve heard so far; are there complete albums you could recommend?

They’ve only got two albums so far , so give both a listen.
I love me a good synth. They’re likely not your style but G oldfrapp is my personal benchmark for synth artistry.
