That’s our old depated black lab Daisy. My mother-in-law was so enamoured with her we actua lly have several oil paintings of her. (and none of mr. barky-bark). The unhealty Chrismas cactus in the picture is about 50 years old, and the Piano holding them up, (free to good home) is about 130 years old.

This Christmas Cactus has been in the family for over 70 years. It loves the Carson Valley climate. Blooms all the time.

This one is on a bi-monthly bloom the last two years. Prior to that it saw a lot of strife and movement. My grandparents fought over this plant, and possibly my great grandmother. What I know...Oakland, CA to start, then Santa Cruz, CA...whole lotta hell, then Walnut Creek, CA. Battle between my Mom and Uncle after their mother’s death, then to Gardnerville, NV. A little over two years ago I move to Gardnerville for a change and to take care of my uncle, the thing has been going nuts ever since. Mom cannot believe it is the same plant.
Don’t get me started on the Jade plants in this legacy....
Love the painting and knowing someone else has a Christmas Cactus and old piano story. Nearly crushed to death by the player piano that the good home took for free. When my parents go, got a grand piano to deal with. I still play, so the desire is there.

That’s a fantastic painting of doggo!
I would gladly take your piano if I lived near enough.

unfortunately, I live far away from everything, its a family leftover like the zombie christmas cactus. only fits in one place in my house an kind of makes the whole room useless. A piano in the house is very last century.
