I just drove this thing 278 miles to get a free mattress topper and box springs for my dad. Free gas and teriyaki. Also kind of incredible I can still get in this old girl and drive four hours without issue.
How about you?

I love truck trips! Just did a ~12
0 mile journey last month in mine to retrieve a free
living room furniture set (reclining
sofa, reclining
loveseat, and single recliner). Sadly I had to pay for gas though, and she’s a thirsty girl.

Drove to Stoon for some shopping. Picked up an encrypted USB drive, an ND filter, and I just had a burrito. Now for some scotch glasses and a Costco run.
Does your truck have cruise?

Catching up on wash. Picking up stick from the storm, and putting on the winter tires.
And having a beer

What ND filter did you get? I’d like to play with one but wasn’t sure what brand or if I should try a variable or fixed one.

After being sick since the first week of October I’m starting to feel closer to normal which is good. I had a throat and sinus infection which turned into a really bad tonsil infection and then bronchitis. It took three different antibiotics, 4 doctor visits including going to the ER when I was having difficulty breathing where I got a throat steroid and breathing treatment.
I’m working on college coursework today. Right now I’m taking a break from reading a 60 page medical ethics chapter.
I also had two anxiety attacks yesterday in therapy but a couple of the new strategies my therapist taught me seems to be helping me feel more in control today. One calmed me down enough to take a nap which is big as it’s been horribly affecting my ability to sleep.
Overall, I’m hopeful that the new strategies will help and am starting to feel better physically.
I’m glad you’re truck is still so reliable. I think it’s a really cool one!

Got a Promaster HGX Prime. I went fixed because I'm not putting that much into hobby photography, and I got a stronger one because the snow is strong.

Heading for noon, haven’t put my shoes on yet, eventually need to go out and get my skates sharpened in preparation for pretending I am a kid , but still some chores to do in the meantime. Looks like I’ll have some unplanned paid time off coming up and then a much-needed change, things might be evolving for the better.

Aight.
The baby is fast approaching 1 year old. At 50 weeks he has a birthday party (in a week) and we’re all melting down trying to figure out how to host the over 40 people that have RSVP’d (but this is the PNW, so only 5 of those people will show, except there are like 20 that are family members, which are pretty much guaranteed to show, including my parents that are bringing my siblings and will definitely show... so 22-25? Ugh).
Also:
That’s an impressive trip for something you don’t drive much that is so old. Nice.

Got the 6 a new battery yesterday and figured out today that the positive battery cable had come loose. The car properly freaked out.
All is well now, though. Tightened the cable and called it a day.

Waiting on a crew to show up and repair some fencing along one side of the back yard (4 footish rock walls, with a couple feet of chain link up top for doggo containment ). I added vinyl slates to the chain link early last year for a bit more privacy and less threatening of the neighbors by the head of household security, but the added wind loading did a number on that one side. The fence on the other side of the yard has held up well, but it is also a lot more sheltered from the wind by trees, large bushes, buildings and sheds.

Been dealing with a low-intensity but damned persistent mono recurrence all month. I’ve upped my daily water consumption to ~100 oz and that finally seems to be helping. Hope I get over it just in time to turn Officially No Longer Young.
Your truck is so pretty. Fits in well at that I-5 rest stop, too. Awesome that she can still cruise so easily!

No cruise... Not even power steering

I’m getting ready to drop the kids off at my mothers, then we drive 1 hour in the snow to get to my work Xmas party.

Yard work and prep to go look at a car tomorrow. Amazing how such a small yard can get so fucked.

I haven’t said it lately but I love your truck.

That’s the same issue I had with the Fiat! I was having intermittent swaps between starting just fine and absolutely nothing. Wasn’t loose, just not on correctly (presumably since they did the coil packs a few weeks ago). What a headache.

Tired. Busy at work, very busy, and short-staffed. 10 hour days all week meant I didn’t even feel like a real person yesterday, and I lost my temper at a couple people who didn’t quite deserve it. So I’m looking at job listings for the first time in a long time. Usually I like how variable and fast paced my job can be, but we’ve just gotten so busy, and management can’t/won’t manage properly, or hire anyone else, and it’s starting to feel not worth it.

I spent all day(light) cleaning up leaves. I got the back yard done, tomorrow I’ll do the same for the front.

Got a notice on my windshield from *this field left blank* that my car would be “towed a nd i mpounded in three days” if I didn’t get my tabs renewed immediately . My tabs don’t expire for another week. And I fail to see how the state of my tabs affects anyone else in any way. So much for waiting out the emmisions shutdown to pinch a few pennies....
Does it still count as murder if it’s an HOA manager ? Dude must have came through in the middle of the night checking tabs because I left at 5am.

At our last apartment complex, we got a similar notice as well (even though tabs are good through the 15th of whatever month they expire).
But come on man. Emissions testing is 15 bucks I'm sure you can wing it lol

Ehhhh I’m more upset on principle than for financial reasons. Maybe this is just k arma getting me back for helping all my neighbors out when the snow came last year... *grumble grumble*
Someone let me borrow their husky for a few hours though, which might have been the highlight of my life. He was just about bear-sized

Your first mistake was helping people. You should know better, living in this area for so long.
Alsooooo sooooo I thought you were selling the Miata?
![]() 11/09/2019 at 20:29 |

Yeah, I am. But I decided that the best of various not-great option s involved holding onto the Miata until the end of winter.
Trying to push back some decisions as far as possible so I have more info and money to work with. I could conceivably want zero vehicles in 6 months or multiple, but if I act now I'll be kinda locked in. Or something. In a perfect world I'll be able to list the Miata for a few grand on oppo and someone crazy enough will come and roadtrip it back home
