I’ve never had a Great Western Brewing beer, but they’re my favorite Canadian brewery by virtue of the brewery sessions that were recorded. These pretty much sum up my musical preferences these days. I was raised on classic rock, came of age to 90's and early 00's rock, took a brief trip into modern country before I knew better, found my soul in the blues, answered the question of where does one go from here in the form of folk, Americana and old country. I terms of current people making music that rustles my jimmies, the brewery sessions pretty well sum it up {although I also have a healthy respect for rap that has something to say, which is so much of it} . Beyond the artists and genres, I really like this style of recording. There is something about a live, stripped down take on a song that I really like. The imperfections of the recordings add so much to them for my ear. If I can ever manage to make my guitar make sounds like these I’ll die happy.

I think I first heard Colter Wall from one of your replies to a late-night Oppo music post. For some reason, the name of our late night, dirty blues posting Oppo escapes me at the moment.

Likely! He’s pretty talented. Gets a good amount of radio play in the city last I checked.
And me? Posting Canadian content? Never!

I’m sad that he moved away from the rougher, darker sound, but “Ever Lovin’ Hand” is fantastic.
