These are currently my favorite kind of pants. I have several pairs in different colors. Recently I ordered some more, in the same exact style, size (inseam, waist) type, and everything, and when I tried them on, something didn’t seem right. I could actually tell as I was unfolding them, that something was up.

Kinja'd!!!

Both are 33 x 32 “slim fit” and the same type of pants. Ideally, I’m 31 inseam, but 30's and 32's can both fit, depending. I have pants in both 33x30 and 33x32 from them; I thought I had my size dialed in with this particular company but clearly something changed.

If you can get your size dialed in though, and want pants that are pretty tough but still nice enough to wear with a collared shirt tucked in and not look like someone who just walked in from the coal mines, Mountain Khakis are pretty dope. I wore Carhartts religiously for years, and then regular “dress” khakis to work. These things do both, and are amazing once they’re broken in. My office isn’t super formal, and I’m not using these as a substitute for kevlar chaps running a chain saw. But anyway, they’re sweet if you can get them to fit.

lol I think I lost THEM at slim fit - the new pants are quite a bit bigger in diameter too

But yeah, I’m 5'11" / 145 so I kind of define slim fit.

I think  all know what to do: apply the Procrustean solution

Lee Performance Series are objectively the best pants I’ve ever had. The “slim” fit isn’t all that slim, more just non-baggy.

Mountain Khakis have the worst quality control for sizing I have ever encountered.nice enough pants, but it's hard to get the right size. And the non slim fit cut is wide enough through the leg for several folks at the same time.

I have a pair of pants coming from amazon today. I’m more excited than I should be.

Fleece lined carpenter pants. My last pair I got years ago at 28x30 are getting tight at the waist, probably a combination of me getting up to 140+ and the pants shrinking.

I had to settle for the “Autumn Khaki” instead of “Dark Indigo” (blue).

They are comfortable enough I’m not on fire indoors, but great if I am working outdoors until it gets below freezing.

And $32

I just wish there was a place near me that sold them, it’s like a 2-week turnaround when I exchange stuff. You get what you pay for I guess. I also have a pro deal with them, so I pay around $50/pair.

I got JNCO on the phone, they said they'll stitch two denim skirts together to be a pair of baggy jeans for you, if you like

They came back and promptly went out of business again. I was a little disappoint . Not that I’d go 36 " cuffs or anything but I’d rather a closet of those than being forced into something constrictive. I’ll take comfort over whatever onlookers think 99% of the time .

TBH I’d some  Levi’s baggy Silver T abs or Ralph Laurens from that e ra . I wore all of mine until they got as soft as pajama pants and disintegrated .

I hate when companies do this. Im reliably a 34/30 (or 32, if I want cuffs), but just bought a pair of allegedly slim fit jeans at a mall store that practically hang off me. It seems they might have downrated their 36s.

Did you measure the inseam? Which pair is “right”?

sigh, I didn’t measure. I know 31 is exactly right for me. I think the ones I’ve been wearing are somewhere between 31 and 32. The new ones have got to be 3" longer.

So basically the new ones are way off, even if the old ones aren’t exactly right - and the old ones were off in the other direction, if anything, thus magnifying the difference.
