2018 A5 didn’t exactly roll in under it’s own power. Concern was further investigated and found that engine was hydro locked. Needless to say, a new long block and turbo was needed.
...water everywhere, crankcase, intercooler, charge piping, rusted cylinder walls and pistons rings.

Honestly, the rest of it is pretty solid Toyota. As long as the front clip and hood dont come flying off it’s likely got a decent amount of life left in it.

I have an update to the story. Turns out this was driven by an insanely drunken man on the interstate with a flat. Tire finally had enough, peaced out, and was driven on the wheel only for several miles. When the wheel gave up, he lost control causing a multiple car collision closing the interstate for an hour or so. Don’t drink and drive folks, fucker’s lucky he’s only going to jail and not the morgue.

At first I thought it was a PWM issue, but shockingly it was just a piece of mouse nest stuck in one of the stages of the fan.

The furnace board was $210, air conditioner board was $190, switch $5, had to take the furnace out of the enclosure to replace the switch (crappy design), plus diagnosing the carnage totalled 2 hours labour at $150/hr.
Original complaint was furnace doesn’t turn on.
Once I fixed the switch it wouldn’t turn off because the relay was stuck closed.
Once I replaced the furnace board it’d turn on if I shorted the thermostat wires at the furnace but not when the thermostat called for it, thermostat talks to the AC board which controls the furnace, relay on that board was stuck open.
I’m guessing he melted the contacts.

The part of the body that the windshield sits on had a hole in a bad weld. You could watch the water rundown the A pillar, behind the dash, and under the kick panels. When I went outside to get I the truck, I started it up for the first time in months which started fine on the first crank. But a ton of error messages popped up in the dash that weren’t there before. So. I guess that’s what our local dealer gets for sitting on jobs they give us. Which this truck definitely isn’t a first
...It’s brand new. Never been owned...

This harness was a 1 piece harness, it went to everything (essentially everything within the cabin) and some external components...
It definitely wasn’t a small task but I’m lucky enough to have dealt with all the different parts of this vehicle numerous times and was very comfortable at most every step of the way. It wasn’t easy, but I think anybody who has the time and a decent familiarity with the vehicle could manage it.

My Comments:
Moldy F150: Welcome to Real Farm Vehicles. Our’s isn’t this bad (yet) but it’s only a 2018. Sheep ride in the cab regularly as needed... though in all hon esty they could hit that with lysol or a bleach scrub, or something... We hose ours out and spray it down with Clorox all-surface cleaner to keep the nasty at bay. There’s a genuine reason to NOT get carpets in your truck.
Prius Blower: had a similar thing happen with Mrs. BoostAddict’s old 2003 Tacoma. Blower started sounding like an unba lanced washing machine on spin cycle. Thought it had probably broken the impeller off... took the cover off and found a dead mouse spin-cycle pressed into the blades. Picked the corp se out (it was well imbedded), put it back together and ran like new again. I still wonder if the mouse was dead before it fell/got sucked into the blower, or if it died after a wild ride...
Flywheel Side Out: I had a mechanic accidentally install a clutch backwards in my 1992 Alfa Romeo 164-S. I had sent the car to get the clutch done during a time I was out of town, expecting it to be ready when I got back... I call up and they say “sorry, it’s still apart, we put the clutch in backwards the first time and had to re-do it ” This was about the time I started trying to do as much of my own work as I could. At least they didn’t try to charge me for the double labor.

Farm truck, h ybrid city vehicle, rare Italian marque.
If you had been able to add driving a vehicle down the highway on a rim. I would have requested you pen a weekly column here.

The little tree did not help.
They said they’d take care of it, as due to the presence of hantavirus in our country mice, I’m not supposed to dig in on mouse vehicles. Also I hardwire things in with solder and fire (Butt connectors, vampire taps and other “teenager wiring” is forbidden). came back 2 weeks later to find a fuse box missing the nest, still full of fur, feathers and turds. They put out glue traps and I removed the mice myself.

That Highlander... sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Even matched the color :P
That would be my luck to get a tire stuck in a ship prop.
