That bathroom looks exactly like the ones in my house , minus the triangle toilet. One is blue & green, the other brownish and peachish.

The triangle toilet is odd as it saves exactly zero space.  In fact, it might take more space.

sounds very 70's.  that was a wild time for color.  I was in a house not too long ago that was green tile with purple fixtures

When I see a garage at the end/bottom of a long down slope like that, with retaining walls, I see water going into the garage/basement. Often. And double in winter. And I see “how would you plow that” except with a snowblower, I guess.

Did you build that island or was it RTA? We’ re already looking at heavily changing our kitchen and I’ve mostly been looking at RTA stuff. Any thoughts on RTA cabinets and islands?

RTA like IKEA type stuff? I dont know much about IKEA with the exception that they are a lower cost if you do it yourself, but the assembly takes FOREVER and blows a budget if you are hiring someone and are just as well off getting a regular cabinet. If I had to do this again, i would probably find some pre- made stuff and maybe add so me trim to make it look nice . That was very custom though. The stuff had to fi t between the two posts and I wanted the trash on the side and the microwave on the bottom which was going to be hard to do with off-the-shelf stuff. It started lif e as a few 2X4s

If we go RTA, I will end up painstakingly assembling it myself. Lol. IKEA is the biggest name. We just want real wood or a nice imitation and the design we want. I’m not afraid of assembling each one at a time if it saves us enough money.

But we are looking at assembled stuff too. We aren’t entirely sure. The stuff that’s currently there is super cheap builder grade stuff. Not worth refinishing.

But I’ll keep my eyes open for made up stuff too. The plan is to add nice trim features either to RTA or premade.

G uess it just depends on the final cost.

I dig that bathroom, but I’m guessing that is one toilet you don’t want to crack the tank’s lid on when working on it.

I do like late 60's early 70's built homes, modern enough so they have larger baths and living areas, old enough for some decent quality wood and tile work. Split level’s, those take a special breed of person to like. That, and someone with good knees who likes to climb stairs. As functionoverfashion stated, drainage at the garage is key. If that checks out, that’s a nice looking home.

Looks like a decent tile job at least, but I hate "comfort height" toilets with a passion.

the height doesn’ t bother me as long as my nuts are n’t taking a bath. its the toilets that are shorter front to back that bother me.

I think this house is somewhat on top of a hill so i dont think it would be too bad but definitely something to look out for.
