A thing that bugs me way more than it should.

Kinja'd!!!

In the first season of Fargo, Martin Freeman’s character drives an Acura EL. In Minnesota. The Acura EL was only sold in Canada. As difficult as it is sometimes to tell, Minnesota is not in Canada. Fargo was filmed in Calgary, and if you’ve been to Calgary, it’s pretty damn easy to tell. So they probably just bought it from a local dealership and assumed it would make sense to have an EL in a show set in the USA. I’ve asked the people in charge at MGM and FX to reshoot the entire season with a regular Civic instead of an EL, I’ll let you know if they get back to me.

The 1998  Suzuki Esteem in Better Call Saul always bugged me - that car would have only been about 4 years old when the series starts, they made it seem way too clapped out for that.

As the owner of a 2001 Civic, I find this atrocious.

Just kidding. I’ve never seen the show. Kind of neat that it was filmed in Calgary though. I used to live there.

I'm pretty sure I spotted a Ford Festiva in the first season of Stranger Things. It seemed out of place.

I always thought it just showed his fortunes since Chuck had his break down. He bought it 4 years ago on a mail room wages, got his apartment with a nice pool, then Chuck lost his mind and Jimmy lost everything trying to keep Chuck alive.

Or Lester gets taken advantage of so much he tried to buy his wife a luxury car and ended up with a Canadian market Civic with Acura badges.

To be fair a lot of EL’s made their way stateside in that era due to a near-worthless Canadian dollar. Lots of Americans would buy just out of warranty Canadian-market cars and just put up with the speedo in kilometers.

My uncle had a Suzuki engine eat shit at 11k miles. They don’t make the four wheeled vehicles as well as the two wheeled ones.

I just moved from that area! I literally lived 2 blocks from that store.

I have yet to watch any of the Fargo series.
