What model is it? I really need to get a player. I have 100 records and have lucked out having a roommate that has one.

There’s no better way to break it in than with, arguably, the best album ever recorded.

Audio-Technica LP-120. I have one, and it’s a great turn table for the price.

Sweet! What's the rest of the system?

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy anything Crosley, if you care at all about your records.

Noted! I had really only seen their portable ones before which I’m not interested in. I just went on their website to see what else they have and it is all kitschy as fuck.

Crosleys are the best sellers, literally everyone carries them , but they’re plastic junk that can’t be repaired when they break . Also high stylus pressure and wobbly arms that will wear records out quick. Good marketing, but that’s about it.
There’s much better quality on the market if you want something new (eg, Audio-Technica), or you can also buy us ed. I just dragged a ca. 1977 Sony out of my parents' basement that hadn’t been used in over 20 years, changed the cartridge, plugged it in, works like new.

I feel like my parents have a Sony player preamp and all that. Just have to drive across country and pick up some other things one of these times.

A long hard day at work is often made better with three fingers of single-malt and Flamenco Sketches.

I don’t know a ton about turntables, but that looks like a nice one. And it’s hard to have a better reference album than Kind of Blue!
A friend recently gave me a MK1 Technics SL-1700 that I think should be pretty nice (supposedly same internals as the venerable SL-1200, but with some automatic functions). It needs a new cartridge though...and I don’t think it plays 78s

Ugh, I still have yet to use my new one
