It’s con rod #3. He’s dead, Jim.

Whatever kind of shop this is, I have no idea. The sight of it does not inspire confidence for the remaining con rods.

Cause: “I broke the oil filter off and didn’t realize it” -Dad.

It does hang off to the side, however if he was shredding some really tall brush, it’s possible to obscure the filter from sight.
