Who makes the best car commercials? I would say Ford Performance or Dodge. They tug at my Jalop heartstrings and make me want to go for a drive, like, right away.
Honourable mention to Volvo who’s commercials are like some sort of films.
Ford:
This will make some oppos sad:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Dodge:
I’ve always liked the Predators ad
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Volvo:
What even is this?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Post your best stuff.

Volvo - Made by Sweden aside from the ones made in Belgium (and other places I’m sure)
Enjoy this heartwarming classic Beta ad in which they apparently murder a nice Italian family by cutting the brake lines ?

Or this one:
Filmed where I live (Vancouver) despite it not being sold here. Some people I know worked on it.

One that comes to mind for me is this commercial for the m k2 Focus (the real one, not the facelifted mk1 we got in the States):
An orchestra playing instruments made from a Focus (and apparently actually played, not just dubbed over). What strikes me about it is that I can’t imagine Ford ever running a commercial like this in the US, let alone for a compact hatchback.
Also, while not one of the greatest or most striking commercial ever made, here’s a Subaru commercial, because b ulldogs are amusing, and it has a great “punchline”:

I like the Ode to Ford one! Added to my list.

I don’t know, kind of liked the Charlie Sheen Fiat Abarth 500.
Alfa 4C
New commercials for Chevy with the focus groups are painfull to watch, an the Lexus and Mercedes and Chevy “give yourself and your spouse a pair of expensive cars for the holidays" are made for people who live in a world I don't live in (not poor, but really, who can afford to do that . They can go fuck themselves.

Those are super odd. I like it. That Alfa one is basically like “driving an Alfa is like a good fuck” which is... a good marketing tactic?
I feel like the people who buy their spouses cars are more often trying to save a marriage on a 5% loan rather than anything else.

You picked a bad one from Volvo, their Made By Sweden XC70 commercial with Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a very good one, IMO.

The rare, often unheard of Pontiac G8 ad

Pontiac G8, 5 Series fighter?
Pontiac Sunfire - Z8 fighter

I’m sure there are some people who live in that world, but I suspect most of those commercials are targeted at people who want to live in that world, regardless of where they actually reside. And thanks to the miracle of 84 month loans, at least some of them can pretend.

But my Volvo was #MADEBYBEL GIUM and my S40 was from the Netherlands.

W hile quite flat recently, Volkswagen’s ad game used to be fucking brilliant.

Yeah, but imagin e what that video would look like though....shots of Belgian chocolates and fries, Dutch weed and windmills....imagine that 'Netherlands the 2nd' video that went viral, but with cars in it. Actually, now that I think about it, that might work.....

‘80s bubble-era Subaru.
Licensing a T-Rex song to sell sub-sub compact vans? Hell yeah!
While we’re at it, why don’t we fly a car over to Europe AND get a hot George Michael song?
Hiring Mr. John McCla ne to wax poetic about the Subaru Legacy? Not only was that a yes, it was a question of how many ads.

I still love “Born of Fire”, but I have to admit it doesn’t give me quite the same level of chills that it used to. Mostly because of the 200.
