Except it’s grey, one year newer, and has 20k more miles. Other than that, it's the exact same truck . Only $8k!

No, it’s one generation older, but in 2007 they sold some GMT-800 trucks as the Silverado/Sierra Classic at the same time they were selling the new GMT-900 trucks like the one in that picture .

Not much, but more than most if it isn't rusty.

I was gonna say, the dash looks just like an '00 Sonoma, but the steering wheel looks like it came out of an old Jimmy?!

They used that same steering wheel on everything for a while. Sonomas, Jimmies, Yukons, Safaris ... It is GM after all.

How do you think I got a brand new crew cab for under $22k out the door? It's been very reliable, and I've never gotten stuck. It is slow as dog shit though!

zero rust, always garaged.

sigh, if it was a tacoma, it’d be worth 6 figures.

Maybe I should sell mine before the value tanks.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s a year older, but it has 40,000 fewer miles, is 4wd, has the 5.3, and lots of options.

Nice! Yeah, it would be if it was a Taco.  What engine does it have?  Regular or extended cab?

I got such a good deal, it’s kind of ruined me for other trucks.

I’ve always wanted to put a screw supercharger on it.

Bah, keep it.  If you were going to replace it, you’d have to pay the stupid money that trucks are going for these days . A 4x4 extended cab with solid rockers is a rare beast!

IIRC 5300 v8? extended cab, auto, some trim level with leather seats.

I just keep thinking that since it’s not my daily driver anymore I could sell it and buy something much older with fewer creature comforts.

Then I look at trucks from the late 60s to the early 80s and realize just how poor the condition is of non restored examples in my area and change my mind.

That’s a nice rig then.  An ‘01 with leather would be an LT, which was the top trim level.

Honestly, you could get older with less creature comforts, but you’re not going to save much if any money. GM did a fantastic job with the GMT-800 platform. It’s by no means perfect, but they are really good very reliable trucks. I’m planning to keep mine as long as it’s feasible to keep on the road, and it’s my biased opinion that you should do the same.
