My blood pressure is high. Its NEVER been high. I have had a cold for a week so I’m blaming it on that. Or the black Gallardo that was in the parking lot. Yeah, its the Lambo’s fault.
Its surely not due to work. No stress here. Just looking at memes all day.

132/93 here. It would be lower (it should be, I’m on three different blood pressure meds), but I’m also on a different medication that increases blood pressure as a side effect. Could be worse though, I was at 143/96 when I woke up this morning.

Track the bp over time and see what it is on average. If it spikes once in a while, that may not be a big problem. Is it consistently high?

how high is “high?” and which of the numbers is too high? if it’s just the top number which is elevated, that could be as simple as “white coat hypertension.”

I was at 140/102 both times they checked.
Usually I’m 120/40ish

Nope, this is the first time, other than the time I was in the ER last week getting stitches in my dumb knee.

140/102
I’m going back next week to see if it goes down, and will be checking this weekend if I end up at a store with one of those machines.

Yeah, I’ve had my diastolic up over 100, but luckily not for a while. Looks like the most recent time was in July when I had a 158/104.

Every time in the past five years that I’ve gone to the doctor for something besides my normal checkup, the root of the problem has been work-related stress. With me it was spikes, but if it’s pretty regular, maybe try to find another one if it’s at all feasible? Jobs aren’t worth killing your self over.

I literally sit here 90% of time time on Oppo/YouTube/Twitter
The other 10% I’m looking up parts for techs on crappy FCA vehicles and making good money.
Customers are nice, employees are nice, there’s very little stress here.

I miss that show. I used to watch it with my Grandma when I was a young lad. Yes, my family is dysfunctional

Last time I was in a hospital I saw a closet marked “CHILD LIFE STORAGE”. To this day I still wonder what was in there.

It’s the 102 part I’d be more worried about. That’s the BP between beats. Are you getting enough sleep? Lack of sleep or sleep apnea is one of the big causes of hypertension. I’ve been on BP medicine for years.

Yup. No idea what’s going on. All my blood work came back good, cholesterol is even low this time.
I’m going back on Friday for another test to see if its dropped. I’m hoping it was just the fact I’ve had this cold for two weeks.

Ask the doctor to take your BP when you first get there, then take it about 15 minutes later at the end of the visit, and maybe even in the other arm. My BP always spikes when I first go to the doctor because I’m always concerned that the pain in my foot is cancer. It’s called White Coat Hypertension .

We did. I also took it again at a store yesterday, and it was still high. I’m blaming that on wearing a hoodie (left my sleeve down when putting my arm in the cuff) and spending too much damn money on stuff for the kids :D

Don’t worry, most BP meds are cheap.
