There was, and it was also a lot more clever than the crotch grabbing crap of today . If you haven’t, go listen to the incomparable Ella Fitzgerald sing Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered . Some of the best lyrics ever written. “Horizontally speaking he’s the best.” And who other than Rogers and Hart could have rhymed “dyspeptic”?
