how do you manage that? I’ve only been driving for 9-10 years but have been through about 12 cars at least (just because I get bored of them rather than wrecking them)

YUP... this confirms my previous comment... you haven’t bought a vehicle in so long because your current one is SO AWESOME (at least in relation to what you usually buy... which is similar to what I usually buy )

It’s been over three years now since I’ve purchased a vehicle. The last vehicle I owned that long was over 18 years ago.

Current frontrunners are Kia Rio EX (hatchback) and Hyundai Elantra GT (also hatchback, of course). When I equip them the way I want, they are not far apart in MSRP, and Autotrader is showing me a few base Elantra GTs listed for less than loaded Rios.
Korea’s answer to the Volkswagen Polo?
Or I could do something really silly, like buy a 2016 Audi A3 from Carmax. =/

Ooh, ‘17 Sienna. How do you like it so far, and how has the updated engine and 8 -speed been?
I ask because we’re looking to replace our ‘14 Flex Limited with a new minivan and the Sienna is still our top contender over the new Odyssey. However, I cannot STAND the facelift on the ‘18+ Sienna, so I’ve been looking at, and convincing my wife to agree to, leftover ‘ 17's as they have the updated powertrain with the older ( and SO much better ) fascia and not far from us is a still-new ‘17 Limited with the chestnut interior and reclining w/ ottoman middle row seats, and they’re advertisin g $7500 off MSRP ( I’m gonna shoot for $ 10k off since it’s now 2 model-years old ).

We love it. It’s a nearly 300hp minivan. It goes like stink (for a minivan) and it gets decent mileage ~24mpg. It holds everything you need, infotainment is more than I personally require. Never, ever, buy a minivan without automatic doors. Best feature with kids. The SE package’s only downfall is ground clearance. It scrapes a bit, front and rear, depending on angle.

Unfortunately not. Dark red. My mom bought it when they first game out. It did have the front bench seat though. Bought it from my parents when the Legend just needed too many little things done.

I bought my outback in December of 2012. However I have been through 4 or 5 bicycles and two pairs of skis since then. The inordinate amount of money I spend on recreational gear is limiting my vehicle upgrades.

Did they all come with a front bench as equipped with an automatic? I believe mine had the front bench. It had a little plush arm rest...

![]() 09/23/2018 at 15:30 |

I think local driving prowess, damp fall/winter/spring weather, and expensive storage space makes this not of the best areas for bikes. You have to be devoted to it, and I think in many cases, single.

I can’t remember if the upscale ones had a center console or not. I had the fold down armrest. Time to search google images....

I think I’m in the same boat. I bought my 3/4 ton suburban in June of ‘17... That’s the last one and totally a record for me. Prior to that? Oh jeez.
2016- 2003 Jeep WJ Overland, 2007 Miata and 1999 Suburban
2015- 1977 Goldwing, 1986 Goldwing, 1994 Miata
2014- 1998 Mustang Cobra, 2005 Dodge Magnum RT
2013- 1990 Mustang LX 5.0, 1993 Lightning
2012- 1997 Cherokee, 2003 Mustang GT, 2009 Focus
Any further back than that, it’s just a blur.

It’s mainly the front seats (er, the driver’s seat). The fabric is too grippy, and there’s too much lumbar support pushing against my back in not quite the right spot. I don’t relish long drives the way I used to, but the car remains tremendously fun to drive around town. Visibility is superb, ergonomics are excellent, the steering feels almost telepathic sometimes, and even the car’s gentle shudder over cracked concrete is kind of charming.
I suppose I could visit an upholstery shop to inquire about getting the seats reupholstered, or have a racing-style seat installed, but these are not guaranteed fixes, and a replacement seat means my torso is no longer protected by the side airbag in the event of an impact.
By contrast, I’ve been impressed with the seats in recent Hyundai/Kia vehicles I have rented, especially the new Accent sedan.

Ha. The Stinger is very cool but it’s too big and too expensive for me. And the color options on the base model are frustratingly limited.

I’m 40 and had only ever owned 5 daily drivers before picking up my Tacoma a few months ago.
(my wife has owned 3 in the 18 years we’ve been married, and I did have an old, beater Pathfinder for a few years, and daily #5 is still in the family, now more reserved for fun/track )
