It’s a good thing my project car quota is filled because this Dart complete with factory sunroof and folding rear seat is both close to me and fairly cheap.
If I bought it the slant 6 would get yanked for a 340 but I could see why some might choose to stick with it. Other than that I don’t think I’d change much. It’s been a while since I’ve experienced bench seat goodness.

“ Convertr iple?” Sounds like the most complicated sunroof ever!

Au contraire, it’s a manual sunroof. You think it confuses people to see a manual window crank, that would blow some minds.

Pretty cool, but not a project that will pay for itself.
And, having owned a 7 4 Dart with the slant 6/ auto, you are 100% right about swapping in a V8. 3 40 would be an excellent choice.

It would pay for itself in entertainment value, which is all I ask of a project car. The 340 would seem to to give it some performance without making it undrivable. Besides, I think they were offered in the car so the swap would be straightforward.

Until a 340 and the appropriate suspension and drivetrain changes can be readied, sure.

The 340 was offered in that car - in fact, I think virtually every engine Chrysler made was put in to that generation of Dart (even the 426 and 440).
The 340 would make it a really fun ride.

If it wasn’t across the country I’d add it to my collection.
