SUV my ass...that’s a goddamn hatchback

I like it too, just wish the cladding wasn’t there (wow, what an original take).

It’s as if Hyundai and Mazda had a baby... it’s not bad looking at all, but I wouldn’t pay the Lexus premium IMO.

Two words
Lowered. CUVs.

Decent looking but the driving experience is already letting me down from here lol

We know this, marketing be damned
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:03 |

Yes it’s probably too expensive for what it is. You can clearly see the Corolla hatchback in the window lines
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:04 |

This is a traditional hatchback. Only ones who call it a CUV is Lexus marketing
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:04 |

Tiguans look particularly good lowered.

Oh man, yea maybe that is what I was thinking of. I like it and that grabber blues always suckers me in every time haha.
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:19 |

I assume y ou only like it because it has essentially become an aggressively styled hatchback and not a crossover.
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:29 |

Of all the CUVs that can are lowered, Forester Xts are my favorite. best of both words really

yes

After having gone back and forth between Toyota and Lexus press cars the last month, the Lexus premium is 100000% worth it. The cars are just so nice. I’m dying to have this Prius taken from me.

It’s still all show no go. They should make a hot hatch version of this with the NX 200t’s engine
235 hp @ 4,800 rpm and 258 lb-ft at 1,650 rpm
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:36 |

paint the flares body color and we’re good.
also is this a small hatchback, like a CT200h, or a bigly UCV? its hard to tell.
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:38 |

like a low car with a squared off hatchback?
WHAT A F*CKIN NOVEL IDEA!

LUKEWARM TAKE.

Wagons are most cool. lowered CUVs are somewhat cool.
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:48 |

Would it be hot though? Is the Infiniti QX30 a hot hatch because it has a 2,0T ?
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:49 |
|
It’s a Corolla hatch marketed as a CUV, as the QX30
![]() 09/14/2018 at 09:50 |
|
This one’s smaller and lighter than the NX, and the Qx30 has only 208 horsepower, 258 lb-ft of torque plus that engine is a dud, I have driven it. I guess tuning and a manual(Hah! fat chance) could help.

I think lowered CUV is a best of both worlds thing. you still get lots of head room, and a car that is real ly easy to get in and out of because of the high roof, but you also get a lowered center of gravity and normal car handling almost.
that’s why I like our Fit so much. It’s not tall like an SUV, but the high roof mean LOADS of cargo space, and you’ll never bang your head getting in . the other day we had stuff in the back seat so we couldn’t fold either down, but i needed to get my kids BMX bike in the car. So I slid it on top if the seats and it fit just fine. I f the roof wasn’t so high that wouldn’t have worked .
my cousin’s family hauler is a lowered RDX turbo SH-AWD. It’s honestly an awesome family car.

the real question is will Lexus give it a more powerful engine to match the more powerful price tag. I’ m sure even if they do it wont come in manual because “premium brand”
![]() 09/14/2018 at 10:18 |
|
I can’t justify $20-40k price difference, but if you can go wild. But to be honest it seems you have a bit of a bias “OpposResidentLexusGuy”
![]() 09/14/2018 at 10:27 |
|
Well I was the Toyota guy but I ended up with just Lexi lol. The difference between the GS300 and Camry XSE is only 11k. Plus, you don’t have to buy new. A 2-3 year old GS is a better buy then a brand new Toyota(or many other cars). I’m probably going Porsche next anyways .
![]() 09/14/2018 at 10:39 |
|
That’s fair, still can’t justify their premiums and I’m done buying new unless my wife forces me. Too many better options out there.

Don’t be sorry. I like it too. Secretly, I was looking for a CT200H a while back. They look nice and get good gas mileage.
![]() 09/14/2018 at 11:44 |

I would like this if they gave it some oomph in the power department . Like a Macau Turbo S kind of oomph. And maybe paint those genders body colored. Black plastic fenders should never be a thing.

I have a confession to make
Thi s practicality you say is exactly why I like the new 6 series GT
![]() 09/14/2018 at 13:16 |
|
i get where youre coming from but here the GTs lose me is the heavily slopped rear end . BUT MUH CARGO SPACE!
![]() 09/14/2018 at 13:27 |
|
Yes but so much headroom, I got to drive a 3GT once and holy hell, I could fit one of them american football helmets in there
![]() 09/14/2018 at 13:41 |
|
I dig it
![]() 09/14/2018 at 17:18 |

I like it. But I’m a huge sucker for both hatchbacks and that color. I’d buy a damn Murano Crosscabriolet in that color.
