At first I’m line oh nice,
Then I’m like WTF are those 1999 Mustang wheels on a ‘69 Vette?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I'd still get it.

At least the offending parts are the easiest to change

The tragedy here is the transmission not the wheels ( original wheels come with the car and sound like they’re rally wheels).

Easiest thing in the world to change... and a negotiating point since I would want to put my own preference of appropriate resto-mod wheels on the thing anyway. (I wish there were updated, slightly larger versions of these: 17-18 staggered, perhaps)
I’d almost prefer the billet ones that I can justify scrapping immediately with no guilt , than yet another set of torque-thrust/Cragar mags that I used to like, but are so completely and horrendously over-played.
SOOO bored of these.

Chrome bumper c3, just need to sell the wheels, easy fix
![]() 09/12/2018 at 17:31 |

The worst part is you can still buy those wheels brand new from American Racing

This is the first year of the “dentist” edition
vette, auto 327, convertible
.

It actually comes with the OEM wheels, I just cringe with the chrome wheels on the car.

I would too, very nice example that I wouldn’t feel bad about driving.
![]() 09/12/2018 at 17:33 |

That is pretty terrible. Shame on them.

H e’ll need to factor in the $600 or so for a set of r ally w heels in to his price because nobody wants those Mustang wheels on that car .

I see those more on Explorers.
![]() 09/12/2018 at 17:34 |

It comes with the original
rally
wheels, these are just to impress the ladies.
![]() 09/12/2018 at 17:36 |

Well, I was never very impressive to the ladies but I think he might want to rethink that strategy. I just noticed that it’s also an automatic which isn’t very typical of an early C3 so that price isn’t very impressive either.

I guess for me this is a rare occasion where I would prefer an auto. I’m not racing it or hot rodding it, it’s a cruiser.

Why is this not on the police blotter?
![]() 09/12/2018 at 17:47 |

I’ll call it in then see if it makes the blotter?
“Whitefish resident reported a 1969 Corvette on Craigslist equipped with offensive American Racing wheels. Hoping a police officer can have a talk with seller about their poor choices.”

True, and I’d probably look for an auto too , but when it comes to value the four-speed is going to have a higher market price than the auto .

Ah yes, in ‘mid-life crisis red’, too. Quite the collectors item.

I readily admit that I don’t pay much attention to prices on cars like this, but that seems like a very reasonable price. Is that typical?
![]() 09/12/2018 at 18:10 |

I am in the same boat as you. I have no idea. $28k seems pretty good for an excellent condition 68 vette tho.

Too descriptive and not click-bait-y enough.
“6:08 pm: White fish resident reports offensive Corvette owner making poor choices.”

That seems like about six months worth of midlife crisis spending. There must be way worse ways to blow your cash.

I tend to buy fancy carbon fiber bicycles, which greatly diminishes my fun car budget, but keeps my mid section in check.

do those tires even have dae codes?
