I sold one of these for my recently deceased FIL in 2009. Got $10k cash for it, was probably worth $15-$17k at the time (needed some work, body not super straight). Sad situation all around.
These things were odd because of the early unibody construction — the body panels were part of the structure, so any accidents were very obvious and hard to repair.

Handsome car, though.

I just noticed this - same color (paint code 334) as my car:
Also similarly aged condition, but I kind of like the patina.

I like the blue hub caps. Who has patina, you or this guy?

Both. My car is another that looks mint from across the street, but is definitely not restored. Not always a bad thing.

I definitely like patina. Have you seen my project van? I am not into coupes as a general rule, but the one at the top of this thread is a really handsome car.

I like preserved original cars too, with all things equal, I would take an original car over a restored car.
The W113 was a pretty car, elegant and lithe in a 1963 (the year it was introduced) way, compared to the larger R107 that replaced it. Values on nice ones tripled or quadrupled in 15-20 years.
