So it’s nearly time for this button now. No, I’ve never had a car with them before.

Mine turn on randomly and because Ford, in its infinite wisdom, put them down where I can’t see them I can’t tell until my ass is roasting. I still love them, though.

I’ve turned mine on during long trips; it helps quite a bit keeping back ache away.

What that key button does?

I’ve been using mine for the drive to work before 7am. It feels nice to start the day all warm and happy.
I just wish my car had the full cold weather package won heated wheel, and heated mirrors

Locks/unlocks both doors I’m guessing. Germans like to but their central locking buttons in the center of the car

They are great. So perfect when it is cold out (especially since they heat up faster than the cabin air). Also, they let you drive with the windows open in moderately chilly weather, while still keeping warm. And for me, I have a bad back, so I just leave mine on low even in the summer to provide some relief.

Can confirm, have driven SmartCar.
Didn’t GM do that for awhile too? I remember my friend’ s Saturn Astra having the lock/unlock button there.

Saturn Astra? That’s a rebranded Opel :)

GM did in their European designed cars like the Astra you mentioned

Counterpoint : Ventilated Seats are the best because I live south of the Mason Dixon (and those seats with AC always have bum warmers)

It’s pretty common for central controls in vehicles built for both left- and right-drive markets.

Both my cars have the cold weather pack, but I don’t have a heated steering wheel in either.

This is 100% accurate - Cooled seats (with AC, not just the crap Lincoln ones with a fan) are where it’s at!

They’ve become a “must have” item for me when car shopping.
Mazda put them on the butt and back, that was a smart move I look forward to enjoying this fall/winter.

Huh the owners manual in mine says cars with the cold weather package should have a heated steering wheel.

Or they can go the other way and not put any lock/unlock buttons.
Source: my 2006 Solstice. The buttons were not added until 2007 or 8. I can only use the fob even when in the car.

Central locking.

I miss a heated steering wheel option, but heated seats are my favorite. I usually keep the air cooler and the heated seat on in cold weather. I usually use the heater very little, unless it’s below 10 degrees. I’m really looking forward to having the panoramic sunroof open in heavy snow fall! But first... lets not rush the cold weather, I can wait.

Heated seats are pretty much the worst. Most uncomfortable thing I've ever sat on.

What, ejection seats?
