My 380hp/400tq Boostang, or the 350hp/350tq RS? It’s your only choice as a manual daily driver. And what would you do with it?
I think it’s an interesting question.

Focus RS.
What would I do with it? Make my kids giggle.

Is it just me or are Grabber Blue and Nitrous Blue the same color?
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:21 |

Oof, tough. If I had an auto
backup, the RS, because head gaskets.
If it’s my only daily, ‘stang.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:21 |

Hey look, 2 different cars with the same head gasket!
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:23 |

You’re right, I think the only difference is that one is gloss and the other is m etallic.

Focus RS - marginally lighter and AWD. Find some tarmac rally style wheels from Fifteen52 and slap some meaty rubber on them. Cobb tune, done.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:26 |

Nitro blue RS every day, add in a tune and it’s a huge winner.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:29 |

Focus. It hasn’t been tuned up yet. I’d probably go with the booststang stock for stock.

Stanger banger. RWD coupe that rides better.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:40 |

Pretty much, Grabber is gloss, and Nitrous is metallic.

If Oppo had it’s own COTD, this would be it for me.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:41 |

I’d have to go RS
1 I can’t handle the responsibility of a powerful RWD car. I’d have to buy tires like every month.
2 I have to carry lots of stuff in my car for work so a coupe would be a PITA
I wouldn’t modify it one bit. Aside from some white wheels and snows for winter
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:41 |

Focus. Really a nything but the mustang.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:42 |

Oof hard choice. Leaning RS but if I got a deal on the Stang........
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:43 |
|
I’d take the RS and sell it and buy something that isn’t horribly uncomfortable to drive.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:43 |
|
That’s a good motive.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:43 |

Damn I said almost the same thing.

Ouch
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:46 |

3430 vs 3520 for the RS and Boostang respectively per Ford’s Statistics. I don’t think it’s that much a difference as a daily.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:49 |

After driving an RS, probably the Mustang.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 20:51 |

I think you know my answer.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:05 |

RS. i have enough RWD vehicle right now and i miss my AWD DSM
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:05 |
|
M ustang because I would enjoy the rwd more and the option to fit a v8 down the road would be there

Focus RS. I live on a dirt road in a place that gets a lot of snow and has a horrible mud season... As a daily driver only the RS has real chance of making it out of the driveway almost any day of the year.
I would go sideways on dirt every chance I got. And snow. And in mud. and I would bring 200+ lbs of animal feed home in it on a weekly basis or so.

If those were the only choices, it would be the mustang. I’ve driven both and found the mustang to be more comfortable. I’d drive it hard and fast and put it away wet. No love lost here on the mustang.

RS. I need four doors and I suspect my wife would find a way to steal it.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:10 |

Focus RS, unfortunately I need the backseats for the little one's car seat.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:24 |

Yup, me too.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:25 |

A V8 mustang
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:27 |

Cobb box tune is how you blow shit up.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:29 |

1. The RS has drift mode.
2. The RS’s tires are expensive, and comes from the factory with Sport Cup 2’s depending on the wheels.

I’ve driven an RS, and the discomfort is way overblown. You feel everything, but it isn’t jarring. I just didn’t find it that fun.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:33 |

the RS, the winters would suck int he mustang. I also need back doors cuz kids and home depot runs.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:40 |

AWD + usable back seats. Besides - find a salvage gt350 and swap that engine into the RS. MEGA
![]() 09/05/2018 at 21:46 |

I’ve driven one too. The discomfort took away the enjoyment for me. Definitely would not DD.

I'm sorry. It misread the post and didn't realize it was your mustang in question. It is a personal thing, from a long time ago. I don't like mustangs. I really shouldn't have commented. Your car is great, you have done some cool mods and I am happy it makes you happy.

Cobb is not a great plan. Mountune if you are gonna tune.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 22:13 |

booo. Mustangs rule.

Chicago winter's would push me towards the RS
![]() 09/05/2018 at 22:17 |

There are a great many who would agree. And with good reason, I would wager.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 23:09 |

mustang, because fuck compacts. As a 6 foot guy, I prefer big sedans.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 23:30 |
|
I drive mine in the Michigan winters and it’s easier to control than my Focus ST was.
![]() 09/05/2018 at 23:31 |

A funner daily than most IMO
![]() 09/05/2018 at 23:36 |

How different are Chicago winters from Michigan winters?
![]() 09/06/2018 at 00:59 |

I was seriously looking at 18 SS 1LE or an 18 GT 5.0 w/PPl1, but ended up with my 2018 RS for one major reason - backseat access. With a two year old, I would’ve probably hated my decision a few weeks into it. The only time she is ever really in it is to/from daycare, but given that’s at least 6-7 one way trips a week, that would still be a PITA. Thankfully, I still have my 2018 F150 Platinum FX4 for normal family duty haha.

FoRS
hoon it till it’s broken

no idea, just dont want to deal with RWD in the winter, did it in a truck for years and hated it
