No it doesn’t and you might be losing some of your 268 with that CVT and Symmetrical AWD. He just had to have more power than me and was trying to impress me with a car I had tried to buy before. DON’T LIE TO ME, BITCH.

Sad when a Camry XSE has 301...

I had a friend with a tuned 2004 WRX wagon. It made 288 at the wheels, slow it was not.

268 is more then 260....
![]() 09/02/2018 at 16:12 |

D epends what kinda tune... but if he don’t got no tune then it’s making 268. And the CVT does really suck power - it seems to actively keep the car out of the power band in everyday use ... Our dealer guy got one with the CVT - you probably do get a more consistently better rolling 2-60mph time but man it feels weird with the turbo motor.

Beak TL has 305 and an AWD system that also gets rave reviews...

I mean, it was pretty quick. He sold it 2 years before I got my M3, so never able to compare the two.

No tune, only mod is that he had to smash a rear window cause he locked the keys in the car.

This is stock as can be. It does have Hawaii plates which is neat.

lol i remember that one .... over here nobody cared as horse was already on the menu

Speaking from experience, that is not a cheap piece of glass to smash ($900 CAD from the dealer, which was the only place they could get it when mine got broken). Probably better off doing one of the door windows.

Yeah but how many stickers bro?

The FA engines in the 2015+ WRXs don’t have those issues of the old EJs. They’ll have their problems as we get cars reaching higher mileage, I’m sure, but no chronic failures that I’m aware of as yet ( other than the fact that stock tune blows and has awful rev h ang) . Carbon buildup is definitely going to be an issue because DI but the engines apparently seem to be fairly safe when tuned up to about 400 (w?)hp, at which point connecting rods become a limiting factor.

340-350 crank hp in an AWD 3k-ish lb car isn’t exactly slow. I mean, my GTI makes 220hp(supposedly at the wheels, not crank, oh Germany) and it’s a sub-6 second to 60 car.
![]() 09/02/2018 at 16:57 |
|
It was the rear quarter window which is the worst one of all to smash.
![]() 09/02/2018 at 17:01 |
|
0-60 is a measure of grip after about 250 crank up.
My point was, that although it is certainly not slow, it's is not fast
![]() 09/02/2018 at 17:05 |

A WRX has a lot of grip.
![]() 09/02/2018 at 17:06 |

Oh, I thought you were referring to the rear windscreen, which I’ve had smashed. I imagine that quarter window is probably a bit of a pain to glue in there but likely cheaper than the big back window.
![]() 09/02/2018 at 17:42 |
|
It’s actually the same price, I got some quotes.
![]() 09/02/2018 at 17:44 |

Dumbass. The last time I locked my keys in my truck, Pop-a-lock charged $35 to open the door. Even $100 is cheaper than new glass.

Hey man: when you use the B-word, you hatin’. Just sayin’. Try to think of something more original. Just a suggestion...

For that little window? O_O
Guess I’d better not break one of those too.
![]() 09/02/2018 at 18:43 |

Probably due to the labor, I can't imagine it's easy to get in there and fix that lil piece

I dunno what makes people lie compulsively about their cars to impress a car enthusiast.
When they were repainting our complex last year, a construction contractor employee (the supervisor, in fact) saw my F355 and said he used to own a Porsche. I asked which one— not to challenge him, mind you, but out of genuine curiosity because I’ve owned a Cayman before .
“Uhh....a Spyder.”
I can smell car BS from a mile away.
![]() 09/02/2018 at 19:00 |

It’s supposed to be a gateway model. You want fast WRX, buy the STI and eat the sky-high insurance premiums.
![]() 09/02/2018 at 19:13 |

I once owned a Lamborghini Testarossa so I know how it be.
But really, I know more dumb shit about cars than anything else. I had someone tell me their friend had a $120,000 Corvette recently.

Literally

But it’s Stage 3!!....brah...
![]() 09/02/2018 at 23:07 |

Devil’s advocate: speech impediment? Maybe meant 268 hp but 368 came out?
Nevertheless, having a enthusiast car doesn’t make one an enthusiast. I had a boss who swore his Carrera S was on par with a GT3 RS. And I know people with beater Civics that possess some of the greatest automotive knowledge.
To be honest, I’m fully convinced that most people with a BMW M or Mercedes AMG are just in their cars because they're the most expensive. Exposing them for the status-seekers that they are is laughably easy.
