A follow up to yesterday’s post, I was able to have a conversation with the owner today. He’s selling off his collection due to health issues and this was his daily ride for a few years. We talked bikes and our history of riding in the city for a while and got a viewing scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. He’s selling for cheap but wants to avoid flippers.
If all goes well tomorrow, I should have a good condition triumph trophy 1200 for a great price. Not exactly a steal (great condition bikes go for 2-3k max) but definitely in my <1500$ budget.
I’ve already got plans to chop up the r ash ed side plastics and turn this into a properly buttoned up standard.

Thanks! West Michigan is full of cheap bikes right now. There's a Honda PC800 for sale for 800$. Needs tires, but was a guy's summer ride for years. So yeah it has a nice 45k miles on it and looks like a maintained daily rider. 800$!!!!!!

I rode a '12 Sprint ST for a couple years. I lived that bike. Do you want some riding gear, and are a tall, relatively Skinny person?

I have plenty of gear (though I could use a new armor jac ket) and while I am tall, I am not skinny.

I thought this was a Miss Mercedes post for a minute (It fits her displacement per purchase increase).

Lol. Well I’ve been riding for a few years longer than her and this bike is a fair amount more powerful which makes sense given the Gap in experience. But I would be lying if I wasn’t inspired by her posts a bit to do some shopping and I had some extra cash and it is my birthday so....here we are.
Fun fact - the motor in the bike is the same as in their sportbike. Not uncommon at all. But whole detuning a sport.motor for a tourer like this is common, triumph. r emoved over 40 horsepower! Most go down just 10-20! The end result is a very robust 100hp engine that can take a lot of miles between services and is quite robust as a touring motor.

No no, my highest displacement bike right now is an 1100. My next bike’s gotta be a 1300.
A couple months from now: "Meet my Hayabusa 1300!!!"

1200/1300... what’s 100cc(s) between friends. Also, I guess I missed where you picked up an 1100cc bike.
