My family keeps questioning why I’m driving instead of flying to Florida. I have a few reasons but one I completely and inexplicably forgot until a few minutes ago.
I hope those of you in the U.S. southeast appreciate your good fortune. Bojangles, especially their all-day breakfast biscuit sandwiches, are a treasure I rarely can experience.
(Am I oversharing today? Maybe. Never go full Musk.)

Oh god I miss Bojangles.
And Zaxbys, while we’re talking southern fast(ish) food places.

Bojangles has gotten significantly worse over the past year, at least their Cajun Filets have.

I have a Bojangles eight miles down the road from my place of work. I should make better use of this fact than I have been
.

I just moved to Nc, i did not find bojangles to be good.

Driving is better cause you aren't trapped in a metal tube with 100s of strangers.

NO.
I’ve lived in North Carolina my whole life, where Bojangles is nearly as common as McDonalds, and while I understand the appeal and why northerners like it, but I just can’t eat anything from there. OK, the Boberry Biscuit and the mac and cheese are both pretty bomb but ugh I’m just sick of my friends treating Bojangles like some sort of chicken deity.

I have to admit, the ham and egg biscuit tonight failed to live up to prior visits. Hopefully that’s the exception rather than the rule, will try again soon.

Apparently I was in the immediate vicinity of their northwesternmost location a couple of months ago but failed to discover it. Thanks for the tip.

It’s just the ham and egg biscuit for me . It’s like Hardee’s breakfast all day long.
![]() 08/28/2018 at 18:16 |

I’ve always been more of a Hardee’s breakfast fan. Particularly the steak egg and cheese biscuit. I haven’t had one in, oh, 20 years or more though.

Oh, man, I used to know where you could still find a steak egg biscuit, right by my house. The other local franchisees moaned to corporate because people kept asking them for one and finally my local Hardee’s got rid of it.
SAD DAY.

Bojangles is one of the reasons I don’t mind being the driver on road trips down south. Love the Boberry biscuits.

Zaxby's is better. Fight me.

Zaxby's and Cookout are both better.

Americans have so many fast food joints that we don’t have in the North. Shake Shack, In n Out, Chick fil a, Whataburger, etc. I realize they’re all burger joints but I love burgers.
Oddly, Shake Shack is the only one I’ve tried but it was in Istanbul, not in New York. Whataburger is Bobby Hill approved, Chick fil a has fried chicken (that’s my understanding) and In n Out seems to be very well liked and always compared to Shake Shack.
We just recently got Popeye’s in my city and I love it. The chicken is actually crunchy instead of that limp, sad batter they use at KFC. They both pale in comparison to Korean fried chicken joints but Popeye’s is probably my favourite fast-food right now.

I moved away before Cookout was a thing and that makes me sad.

This is from visits to multiple locations, don’t. If you are in Florida in an area that has Whataburger, get a honey butter chicken biscuit and forget about Bojangles. If you are there for lunch, get a patty melt.

They used to be great, but they are significantly worse now.

If you haven’t had it in a while, just remember it for what it used to be. The chicken quality is chicken flavored rubber on the biscuits. The chicken supremes are about the size of a McNugget now. It’s just bad.

5 years ago, this would have resulted in an altercation. Now, I agree. I won’t eat Bojangles now, it’s gotten that bad.

I’m just going to have to go ahead and disagree - that looks more like an intestinal disaster :D

dont forget to look for a “Roscoes chicken and waffles” while you are out and about......

But I bet the boberry biscuits are still good. There’s nothing similar out here.
![]() 08/28/2018 at 19:43 |

Breakfast biscuit: Chick Fil A. It’s the only one I’ll eat. Or Waffle House biscuits n gravy.
But for the best fried chicken chain? Popeyes, hands down!

I don’t know, I base chicken restaurants on their chicken.

For whatever reason the northeastern U.S.
has similarly been devoid of a lot of the “national” chains. Hardees, Carl’s Jr, Jack in the Box, Shake Shack, In n Out, Wataburger, Bojangles, Church’s Chicken, etc etc aren’t a thing in this part of the country. Go back ten years and Popeye’s, Sonic, Golden Corral, and Chic-fil-a didn’t really have a presence in the region either. I could take or leave the others, but I’m soooo glad Popeye’
s came up here.

I’m never the only person that “Saves” an article, but a positive shoutout for Bojangle’s is a save in my book.
Also, please fill out the survey on your receipt for a free sausage biscuit. If you hand in your old receipt with the survey code on it, you’ll get another receipt with ANOTHER free
sausage biscuit survey box.

I might, but I can still get fried chicken out here. No one makes sweet breakfast biscuits in this part of the country. No cinnamon raisin biscuits, no boberry. Nothing. That throws the balance quite a bit.

Hardee’s is so good!!!!

I vacationed in the South every year growing up, then lived a decade of my adult life there. I’ve never had Bojangles. 10/10 would happily eat Whataburger every day for the test of my life though.
How the hell did Portland win the best food city or whatever? Food here is all hipster bullshit.

I don’t know you but I can’t respect you because you somehow did not get their chicken biscuit

I will do the same; i did go in when they were about to close and i also heard it can vary by location.
