This was my road this morning:
This was my back yard, my fire pit (right aft of image) is now a pool:
The stream (in the background) flowing into my yard (foreground):
Closer shot of the stream, that’s USUALLY 6-10 feet back from the fence line:
My neighbors have a pool now:
Thankfully its recding quite nicely. Though we are expected to get more rain.
My house is on a hill so my basement is dry, what IS getting into my sump crock is being pumped out.... into the stream. lol.

Wow, glad you’re OK and your house is OK. Looks like your neighbor has a little sailboat there in case it gets much deeper haha.
If it floods at our house, we’ve got bigger problems - we’re 500 feet in elevation from the nearby river. However, that same river separates us from the nearest town and floods often - sometimes more than once in a year, but other times it goes a few years between major events.

Yeah a lot lot LOT of my coworkers have flooded basements. The storm hit between 6pm and 7pm, then we had rounds 2, 3 and 4 well until 3am this morning.
I did not sleep much.

I was wondering if Madison flooded again. I didn’t hear anything on the news, but last night’s storm was a big one not long after the last one. I have to imagine the ground was still saturated.

Parts of it had to I’m sure... though the storm decided to dump the most rain as it got closer to the lake. 3-4 inches inland, 8-9(!) by the lakeside. I think we got around 7. Yikes.

We were on the south side of it, it just barely hit us, relatively speaking. Sounds like we can expect more of the same tonight and tomorrow.
