Even in death, he reminds me how much I hate politics and plastic people . He was ridiculed his entire life by the democrats but after 1 final vote against repealing a piece of health-related legislation, they decide that he’s the best republican to ever draw breath. My facebook is full of people he fought for in war that frankly, kind of suck.. Hell, even Google is honoring John McCain despite ignoring the deaths of Senators Lautenberg, Inouye, and Byrd.

He was an American hero for his service to the country - not a single vote in his final days.

I admire the guy for his service to the country, all politics aside.

I’ve been thinking about your remark and I think what we’re talking about is hypocrisy on the part of Liberals who would never give McCain the time of day except for that vote about Obamacare. At the same time, what about people who would turn on a reliable conservative such as Jeff Flake because he is willing to criticize President Trump? I see those as very similar things.

Yep, that’s the hypocrisy I’m talking about. They are fairly similar, but in my mind, there is something worse about people’s desire to declare someone as “reformed” (like your classic “he found god while in jail” argument) when the person wasn’t guilty of anything in the first place.
