After a long day at work it’s always good to hit up some empty roads to release some stress. I got to do a few stoplight pulls and spin the tires going into second followed by a pop from the exhaust. I need to do this more, it’s therapy.
(It's got the Ford Performance Power Pack which brings the car to 335hp/390lb-ft and an exhaust that may or may not add power but it does lower the weight by 45lbs cause titanium, yo)

Sure rub it in why don'tcha!
![]() 08/25/2018 at 23:47 |

I could be complaining and saying that 390 ISN'T enough but, that'd be ridiculous.

Bruh 148 is enough.

I find 370 adequate.

For an impact wrench, maybe.

I mean, it’s your own fault if you haven’t 2JZ’d it already. It takes like *five minutes with handtools!
*(no it doesn't. The swap isn't even the slightest bit easy)
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:00 |

Really? You'd fit right in on FP if you did...
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:00 |

Honestly the ~ 23 0 in the FiST was more than enough. Bigger numbers isn't always more fun but a lot of the time they are.

No u

Well, the important number is power, not torque.... but you’re well covered anyway
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:02 |

The 458 “only” made 398 lb-ft. I’m basically a Ferrari, definitely switching my pony badges for a stallion.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:05 |

Italian dealerships HATE this man's one simple trick for more affordable torque!™
I think the E90 M3 only makes 290 ft lbs or something? And LFA also has super low torque.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:05 |
|
Both are important and the takeaway is that I have enough (for now). > 300hp in a daily is a little bit ridiculous but from here on out I'm never have less.

Yes, my stinger is similarly potent and it is more often than not absolutely overkill. I should’ve gotten the 4 cyl version... this car really temps me into bro-mode
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:09 |

I used to joke with my friend that the Japanese hate torque. The torque numbers for cars with similar horsepower tend to be lower than American and German cars.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:10 |

273 gets my two-ton TL moving faster than I can keep up with. So yeah.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:12 |

I also realized that your car probably doesn't weigh much more than mine, yet has nearly 50% more horsepower...
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:17 |

Oh shit, are we gonna have an internet street race? Cause I don’t know that a TL would keep up.

Ad your car will make it to 180,000 miles with no problem, mine maybe could?

Ah, you'll be fine.

I kept up with a Coyote S197 up to 80, but after that he took off and I didn’t feel like risking a ticket because Virginia.

Dammit, that’s funny.

Talk about draconian speeding laws.

If it’s motorcycle

It’s not as bad as the FP makes it out to be, but there are enough Pollyanna types around that I’d have been on the receiving end of some blue lights within 10 minutes. Especially with my custom plate.

One time my car spun it’s tires and then I realized there was spilled sand on the road.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:57 |

330 is enough when you’re sitting at 3,200 lbs
![]() 08/26/2018 at 00:59 |

True dat. Since I bought my Ducati fast cars mean nothing to me.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:01 |

My car has slightly more HP and the same torque. You're absolutely right. And I can't even use it all most of the time.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:01 |

Yes. What car are you tal king about?
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:04 |

Oh, then I'll take that E55 off your hands, free of charge.

I end up getting groceries and driving 10 miles to work. I almost never get to use the power, I need to take a day and go hit up the the nothingness that is north north Jersey. Endless good roads and few cops.

A tire spin is a tire spin, right?
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:06 |

425ftlbs at the wheel with 3300lbs wasn’t quite enough, I feel like 550-600 would be ideal.

Those are diesel truck numbers.

My cousin had an SS of the same vintage in high school , it was an auto but we used to thrash it. Blasting Job for a Cowboy through a couple of oversized subs with the T-tops off.

3rd gear burnouts and highway pulls
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:16 |

I kinda wish I had T-Tops. This one is pretty stripper though with only AC, fogs and remote hatch release options
I have to tell people on a near-daily basis that no, it isn’t a 1LE
But it brings back memories of my first car, an ‘85 “sport coupé” V6. So hard to get in and out of. Ride just inches above the pavement. Rattles and squeaks abound. But no nannies, no anything to keep me from doing incredibly stupid things with a V8 that throws all its torques at idle
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:17 |

Or my Miata :(
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:30 |

T-tops are awesome and more modern cars need them.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:33 |

Agreed!

As long as I can chirp 3rd, I'm happy.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:44 |

Lol if I had that much power and RWD I’d definitely end up killing myself when I’m driving to blow off steam. Even with a Miata I can easily get it out of whack if driven like a mad man. But it's super easy to just catch it and then stop being stupid. Pretty sure I'd just end up off a cliff with more power.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 01:58 |

I definitely would be dead if I had this car when I was living in Germany. I used to go out around midnight 3-4 times a week to go drive in the mountains, I would drive that thing to it's limit all the time (it'll do 144 on the Autobahn). I'll try to find an image of the route I used to take.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 03:16 |

honestly I really want a 4 cylinder diesel with some ground clearance and 4wd
![]() 08/26/2018 at 03:18 |

I used to do that. But now if I want to go for a drive I get on the Ducati. I'm a bad car guy now.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 06:54 |

That's almost 3.5x what I've got.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 10:13 |

290-300 in the FiST is a riot. Whenever I get a new tune for my intercooler unpgrade, I should be sitting at around 300wtq.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 11:56 |

I’m currently shopping lightly used ecoboost mustangs and the ford performance parts website. Serious consideration here.

![]() 08/26/2018 at 13:18 |

I got mine with 4,000 miles on it and then almost immediately went to the nearest Ford Performance dealer for the Power Pack. It's a blast.
![]() 08/26/2018 at 15:58 |
|
Actually, 400 lb-ft is enough. :p
![]() 08/26/2018 at 20:36 |

Have you thought about a throttle response chip? Had one on my 14' GT and it added a new level of performance feel without actually adding any hp/tq for pretty cheap.
![]() 08/27/2018 at 00:16 |

Maybe my exhaust gets me there?
![]() 08/27/2018 at 11:21 |
|
Does it?
![]() 08/27/2018 at 11:59 |
|
Probably only if I tell people it does. Gains are probably not much in reality but it does change the power to weight ratio which is just like having more power.
![]() 08/28/2018 at 10:52 |
|
Agreed! Can’t wait to get a tune on my S3 and turn the wick up to 387hp/409tq
![]() 08/28/2018 at 10:56 |
|
Thats going to be amazing. I love the looks of the S3.
I'll probably stay where I'm at with power for awhile cause it's still under warranty.
![]() 08/28/2018 at 10:59 |
|
Warranty is why I’m waiting - when I bought the car, my wife made me promise no tunes until it’s expired. I’ve got 10,000 miles to go or May of next year :).
![]() 08/28/2018 at 11:02 |
|
I have the Ford CPO warranty and my tune is through them as well. As long as I don't retune or doing anything crazy I have 75,000 miles to go!
![]() 08/28/2018 at 11:07 |
|
That’s really amazing they do that - if VAG detects a tune on your car they immediately give you a “TD1" status and almost any warranty claim that’s drivetrain- related is immediately denied.
![]() 08/28/2018 at 11:10 |
|
I've had good experiences with Ford as far as warranty stuff goes. My Cobb tuned FiST got a replacement engine with no questions asked about my modifications
