An aside: My Google Image Search showed none with the text on the hood.

I saw one of these the other day, so maybe they sold two?

My initial thoughts were:
1. Huh, they actually brought that thing to market?
2. Why did they need to re-use the Eclipse name?
3 . Someone actually bought one!

Seen a few in the city - mostly older examples doing deliveries, but I know I’ve seen one of these during the last month. Their lineup is just depressing, but I always rooted for them just like I did Suzuki. Both companies seemed to want to just sell us straightforward cars without a lot of frippery. But I suppose that’s not on the menu anymore.

Dodge recycled the Aspen name (mistake) and now this. And Capri - applied to all manner of Fords.

I’ve seen exactly 2 in the wild ... those are probably ridiculously reliable.

Can’t get new car financing? Head on down to Mitsubishi, the Sprint of the automotive world

These things are loaded to the brim, though. Combine the long warranty and the massive discounts, and these things are a steal.

Mr. Regular described Mitsubishi as ‘ the Chrysler of Japanese brands’ when he talked about Stef’s Lancer. Some instinct in me says that’s probably very appropriate—though hers looks damn near immaculate, so I bet she’s had a better experience than most, as far as reliability.

If someone told me they wanted a decent new car on a tight budget, I’d tell them to at least visit the local Mitsu dealer.

Also, that dealer has a huge Mitsubishi flag flying that could probably cover a half acre laid flat. I like that statement. Might as well be a skull and crossbones.

Mitsubishi has been on a significant upswing for the past few years, 2017 was their best year since before the 2008 crash and they're running comfortably ahead of last year through July. They're signing up new dealers and opening (or, reopening) new regional offices around the US. They basically just sell boring, unremarkable crossovers now, which, fortunately for them, is exactly all American consumers want to buy these days.

She’s probably also cared for it better than most owners of modern Mitsus.

My “local” (it’s in the same state) Mitsu dealer definitely runs the loudest ads on the radio about getting ANYONE!!! approved. And I think I'd trust one more than an FCA product if reliability was a factor.

Indeed. You get the feeling those guys know they have a decent product and  are not going down without a fight, dammit ! Gotta respect that.

I think mine in particular is especially adamant because Suzuki was their other brand and they still have the sign up. Mitsubishi is their last hill to die on before they become the used car lot that they look like.

I’ve always lived in the Craigslist market, but I bet you could get a hell of a deal on a cheap new car there. The Korean duo have become mainstream and expensive enough that they might have a chance at the bottom of the market.
